Agreed.

Have worked in recruitment myself & it's an extremely competitive industry. Pretty sure there are up to 500 recruitment companies in Melb - all offering pretty much a similar service. In that game it's all about establishing a good brand, advertising yourself well, & securing contacts, contacts, & more contacts among other things.

It's a tick for mine

If he does those things within his business, yeah that's a big tick from me too.

I suppose I'm probably looking at it from too narrow a perspective. :)

:-D Does anyone know who Geoff Southby works for?????

Sharelle McMahon gives a glowing endorsement of the current board as well as Greg.

Gree Lee may be a successfull business man in his own right but so are several of the current board. This is not his first attempt to get on the footy board and even though he appears to be saying all the right things now, how much influence is he going to have with this board as he is only a sole voice.

To claim that he wants to be President before he is even elected to the board will go do well with the other board members and it appears that he has already got an opinion of what class of members Carlton has as he refers to us as "Average Members" in his letter.

I hope Greg has a magic wand because he is going to need it.

I don't really care what the working life of the board members entails, I just want them to deliver. Our marketing has been way below what is needed since they took over. If Lee is a breath of fresh air with some new ideas and initiative, assuming he gets on, then he shouled be encouraged, not discouraged. He has the ambitions we so desperately need right now.

The sentence reads "He is an independent thinker, who will support the needs of the average member."

The average member, that's you and me, not the high-flyers and socialites.

I'd suggest you're not just an "average member" IB.
Greg Lee sounds different to anything we have on the board at the moment.
Thats why he'll get my vote...........magic wand or not.

Hopefully he isnt the sole voice.
Hopefully there are more to come next year.
Hopefully the underachievers with no answers just move on and do something else.

Hopefully we can have something that resembles a business and footy plan around the club.
Go Clarke and Lee...!!!

And i hope Hart has something to add too.....i want to know more about him...

Anyway im happy with Lee and Clark.

And Lee didnt run for the footy board before ... you mean social club board???

so what???

Good luck Lee.

That boy lives inside his own heart. That's an awful big place to be.

perhaps any new director could make it his mission to find out and categorically state once and for all whether the decision to build the legends stand was made before or after the league tabled any plans for the dome.

It seems astounding that there has never been anything concrete stated there - only conjecture. Perhaps we need a royal commision or something. For mine, I'd love to see the club go after the league for compensation if it was revealed that the league decided to build the dome after giving some sort of blessing to the legends stand. Of course thats pretty much going to be wishful thinking on my part

Work started on the legends stand late 1995. The AFL did not decide to get involved in docklands until 1997 when the stand was just about completed.

If you read the article properly I think you will find he says "he wants to prove to the board that he is a viable alternative leader" Thats exactly what I want from my Directors - people who are willing to prove themselves, live or die on their performance in taking the club forward. How could anyone have an issue with that!!! Unless you are a poser director who has done nothing for the club and is now running scared.

Up until last year was called United Recruitment. Specilises in hospitality, healthcare, logistics & engineering, and blue collar labour hire. Major player in each of the industries. Kave a look in the emplyment papers or on the internet.

Guys I received my voting info last night. I want to know what the majority think around here. Don't know much about the other two candidates, and who of the current board we need to get rid of.

Some advice would be good.
