I want Carlton players selected in the First 22 that have earned their spot...because they show better form than those they replace in the team.

Pick to win!

I agree with what you're saying Bondi, but I don't see any value in playing Sporne at round 15 when he clearly hasn't shown to have a future at the club before then. I don't think too much harm can be done by playing Russell instead - even if his form is not as good.

Let's try out the 6-8 players that are right on the fringe to find the best 3-4 we're going to keep in 2007. I'd prefer to be beaten by 6 goals instead of4 and see Kennedy play play in place of DeLuca.

after last 3 years objectively we are clear favourite for the spoon but obviously hope we are better than that and perform better than that
Hawks Tigers and Dons arent significantly better than Carlton and could easily slip behind us if all doesnt go well and not entirely sure patching up of list at Kangas may not go horribly wrong this season

Frank, you must be forgetting the Dons have acquired a new experienced mid-field leader.

Agree Blues really should be favourites for the spoon, but who knows?

agree just that that experienced midfielder played the last 7 games in the back pocket last year when the worst side in the AFL couldnt get it out of the middle or be accountable for their men 8) - and Ryder is also the no 1 pick in last years draft as well

Ryder was in the Dons best last game...both he and Dempsey can play ...the trick will be keeping them in Victoria....
Campo has done nothing yet in the Essendon* practice games to suggest he will be of great loss to us and hopefully he will hinder the development of some Essendon* youngsters by getting game time in the middle that they should be getting...

Ryder and Dempsey can play no doubt but Sheedy saying that unequivocally that ryder was the best NO 1 pick and the media uncritically swallowing that line was nauseating in the extreme :?
But perhaps Im a cranky old B===

I didnt rate the Crows or Neil Craig, apart from their established fading stars, didnt appear to have much going for them but you have to give Craig credit...Mcleod seemed reinvented, Rutten and a few other no names suddenly became players .Are Bock, Hentchell, McGregor, Rutten, Welsh that much better than Fisher, Waite, Thornton, Fev etc..I dont think so, just when you have quality players/leaders like Riccuito, Goodwin, Mcleod, Edwards etc you seem to be able to extract a bit more from your list at all levels...I think the notion that Gary Ayres lost the players at Adelaide has been proven....you would have to look at Denis Pagan and think the same...

This notion that Pagan has lost the players perhaps has to be looked at in a different context -did Pagan ever have the players?
