COZ if you had you'd realise what a joke those two inclusions would be right at the minute!!

second that, I don't rate sporn or chambers but they're both ahead of JR plus they're stronger and far more experienced. You blood youngsters when the season's out of reach, not when it's still up for grabs.

You blood youngsters when they are one of the 22 most deserving. When the season is shot, they usually fall into that category.

Scotland was actually tagging Goodes on the weekend. I wouldn't have thought that Goodes was that damaging from what I saw.

If we won by a point last week we would have been looking at things a bit differently this week no doubt. We can't change the coach, (tactically beaten in the end) but we can put question marks on those who deserve them.

No doubt Scotland needs to play CONSECUTIVE good games. One good game is followed by one average. His average games happen when he doesn't chase, and run that extra yard; ie keep up the pressure.

Scotland wasn't the only one on Goodes. I was disappointed in him, as I view him as experienced enough to know what he has to do every week; week in week out.

McGrath I thought did his job again. Last time we met Sydney he was on O'Loughlin (wrong), this game he was opposed to Goodes and O'Keefe at times. Whose fault is that? Not McGraths. It shouldn't happen.

Chambers is a good runner, but at present we need someone in his place that gets the ball, and breaks the lines. If he had genuine pace he would break the lines. We seem to misunderstand time trials for mine, as stamina over distance is not the equivalent to full throttle pace.

Teague is a hard at it player, and the sooner we condition some other player with good disposal to use his body as well as Teague does in contests, the sooner we will have some good disposal from the HB. This is where the running game begins. This is why Lappin and Whitnall are so important for us in the backline.

I really am a fan of Sporn, but was also a bit disappointed in him on Saturday. I wish he would just break through the negative mindset and back himself. Due to the fact that I don't think we will make wholesale changes after a close loss, he should retain his spot.

I want a win, as it's not time to blood players yet.

OUT INJURED: Lappin, Fisher*, Waite*
SUSPENDED: Fevola, Davies
DROP: Chambers, Teague

IN: Kennedy,Bannister, O'hAlpin*, Longmuir*

Beat Williams and we beat Hawks. Carrots is the best for this, but I want him in the middle with Murphy, Bentick and Stevens. Fill the hole in front of Williams and put Bannister on him.

Bondi - two things have become apparent in the three games we have played
You have to have control of the ball our possessions have gone from 350 -to 320 to 250 - We need ins where we can get the ball and rack up possessions - Maybe Blackwell ???????

Next we need to kick a score we haven't been able to kick over a 100 points yet . we seem to have an abundance of forward options but no -one other than Fevola is kicking goals .

Bring in goal kickers - Kennedy - Longmuir maybe or bring back Livo and move Lance forward- Saddo will be better next week after the run on saturday night and would be worth another try in defence - But not on williams

I have a horrible feeling about this game coming up on fridat night

I have it on good authority:
1) Waite - out at least 1 more week (maybe 2)
2) Lappin - wants to play, says he is right but WILL NOT come up
3) Fisher - 50/50 but may be rushed back
4) Fev - no appeal, will take 1 week
so where does that leave us?

I'm sick of recycling the same old players who haven't stepped up (Wiggins, Bannister, Longmuir). Play the kids - at least you'll know if they are up to it!!!!

P.S - Do you ever think that we will learn to man up and be ACCOUNTABLE???

Its not a matter of learning how to go one on one they all know how

The instruction has to come from the coaches box and it didn't .

therefore they were allowed to chip chip chip for 1/2 hour

why does it have to?

Bomber Thompson when asked the other week stated - 'every football team over the summer would have learnt to combat the chipping and would be expected to man up.'

This type of comment has be mooted by some, but it is rediculous to the extreme.

Williams amassed 5 kicks and 4 marks on the weekend for 3 goals 1 behind. He was reasonably well held on the weekend, but the Hawks flogged the Cats by 52 points.

So where did the Hawks win? In the midfield of course. Everitt and Campbell dominated the ruck and players like Hodge, Mitchell, Guerra, Crawford, Bateman, Vandenberg, Ladson and Lewis ran through the midfield picking up the hardball.

That is what we need to do to win. We need to get the ball first and use it. Finding a full forward or full back will be secondary.

Because when you are a coach who has let it be known to the players its my way or the highway. The players are reluctant to take matters into their own hands - So the instruction has to come from the box

Fair enough Malleefowl. It does take more than covering one player to win.

I'm basing my opinion of Williams over a 25 game stretch, and not just last weekends game against Geelong.

FYI Williams nearly won the Coleman last year (but got injured), and has kicked a few this year. Sure we naturally have to win the middle firstly (every game) against a hard running skillset, but where have the Hawks brought other teams undone in the past (prior to last week's game) is by using a fast small FF, which is very unusual, and most teams have found that to be a hard match up.

I also have a bad feeling coming into this game. I need to evaluate before I bet.

I agree that Williams will be a danger - we will need the right matchup. I am also feeling worried about this week. When the Hawks are on fire they are a good unit.

I wouldn't play any of them to be honest. I'd rather have a full side to chose from against the Tiges, Dons and Pies (all of which are winnable).

We should bring in Sentanta or Kennedy to cover Fev. And Bannister (if his name is next on the list) to cover Lappo, and take our chances against the Hawks. If we can break even in the midfield we'll be a good chance anyway.

Fisher is ready to play guys. It's Lappin and Waite we're sweating on. Fev is out. :(

Chuck out DeLuca and bring in O'hAilpin and you've fot yourself a team!

but realistically, they won't do that. It'll be:

OUT: Lappin, Fevola, Sporn, Chambers (teague will stay as a back up for Dixon or someone like that)
IN: Kennedy, Russell, O'hAilpin, Bannister

Bannister will do... I don't like him but I suppose you need a mix, and he's a better option than Chambers, sporn, Longmuir or prendergast

But, realistically, it'll be this:

OUT: Lappin, Fevola
IN: Livingston, Longmuir

Dixon would smash Teague. Too quick.
