Synbad, Im not an accountant just concerned about the debt levels and cash flow of the club. In order to grow the brand the club needs to spend money or attract significant investment. Why is it that the scum (cwood) can beat off sponsors with a stick but the most successful club of the 20th century is doing it hard? with all due respect to MC Labour services its not quite the same as lexus, wizard, emirates, Maccas, etc, etc. If this is obvious to me it must be obvious to the 'brains' in the club. The carlton brand has generally been associated with success (16 flags), influential supporters, and innovative corporate practices (legit ones not whatwas practiced during the Elliott years) plus a huge supporter base. I dont think this is being leveraged off enough by the marketing dept. I'm not privy to the sort of info you seem to have about the 'hyenas' so all I can do is give Smorgon some time and hope he can restore the club to its former superpower status.

thats right and like i have said to make money you need to spend money and we aint got any!

So how did the first person ever make money before he made his first dollar do it???

Is that a proposition from Wittgenstein Synbad? This is a very simplistic response from someone who so obviously fancies themselves as having their finger on the pulse of whats good for carlton. If you want to read about the history of money go to you local library but i am interested in your response about our lack of prowess in attracting major sponsors
