As I've said before, I'm not going to bag the current board (much) because they should be given reasonable time to execute whatever their plan is.

However, if we do have a case, a relatively strong case to win back the PP then it should be pursued. If the board doesn't pursue this case, if it's a strong case, then it's obvious they are playing politics of perception.

I could have asked the AFL to reconsider the PP with a solicitor, and backed down when the AFL rejected the request. It seems to me, if the board backs down, they have attempted to give the impression to members that they will fight for the rights of the CFC, when reality would suggests to me that they didn't 'fight', they just 'tabled' the idea. No intestinal fortitude.

We have 17 uncontracted players, no assistant coach, no fitness coach, and so on, and this is leaving a bad taste for members....we also have #1 pick in the draft and #1 pick in the PSD, and a PP request at our disposal, and the jury is still out till D Day. Given an EGM could be held in December after the Trade and Drafting schedules, this board has a small window of opportunity to bring some optimism to its members before year's end, but regardless, this board will not last, as they don't have the smarts or unity to convince members that the precarious positioning of the CFC will end with them at the helm.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to do what I've been waiting for all year; some good news from the board.

If the AFL had accepted it they would have faced legal action from the other clubs. Much easier commercially to push back on us and make us make all the running, especially whilst we're on our knees without money or overt leadership. Id have done the same thing regardless of the legal point - after all, the $ will drive this argument, not the legal veracity of the arguments.

In our position and with that leadership I wonder if there's a middle ground negotiation point. Synbad, you indicated some canberra games... was that a commercial quid pro quo you had heard or just unrelated to this point?

There in lies the problems why a new ticket should have moved in and taken over by now. We are a shambles and are about to get our carcass shewed on by others. Sad sad state of affairs for this club.

Well we know where were goin
But we dont know where weve been
And we know what were knowin
But we cant say what weve seen
And were not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Were on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin that ride to nowhere
Well take that ride

Im feelin okay this mornin
And you know,
Were on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go

Chorus

Maybe you wonder where you are
I dont care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there...take you there

Were on a road to nowhere
Were on a road to nowhere
Were on a road to nowhere

Theres a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And its all right, baby, its all right

And its very far away
But its growing day by day
And its all right, baby, its all right

They can tell you what to do
But theyll make a fool of you
And its all right, baby, its all right

Were on a road to nowhere

Those who speak of woe in this issue need to lighten up abit I think. This was a long shot, should have been raised years ago and has consequences for every team in the competition. It probably surprised most of you that we were even thinking about it. I must admit it looked like a re-election ploy of Wilson to me when I first heard it.

We were never in a position to rely on it and we were never in a position of strength. We may have a good legal or equitable argument but we dont have a position of strength here. A commercial settlement without the pick is the best we can hope for in my view.

So if we cant rely on it and dont have it we shouldnt feel as though weve lost anything or that the Board is weak for not getting it.

Sorry we must fight this one right too the end.

We have right up until the Friday Night before the 2006 National Draft to fight this one - I would say a court order issued the night before allocating us an additional Pick at the beginning of the 2006 National Draft would be poetic justice.

NO STONE MUST BE LEFT UNTURNED IN THIS ENDEAVOUR.

So could I, but there's a court order prohibiting me from doing so.

This will make the Gibbs thread redundant if we win and get the PP.

This is line in the sand material. I'm glad we are fighting (if true).

Even if we lose it is still worth it. We need to show some ticker. I'm sick and tired about us getting bullied by all and sundry, it's about time we throw a left hook back.

Please, please, let this be true.

Dennis.

I'll just start a thread so we can have another pointless argument about whether we need a Sellar (Goodes) or Leuenberger (Cox).

Goodes.
