While the scores doesn't mean anything in the end other than a victory, everything else is semi-serious.

Fine, then having extra players, no matter how useless, is against the spirit of the contest.

I still think chugging beers is a better way to do it, imagine that 7yo after 1/2 a dozen

The preview button is helpful.

What it lets you do is see your post before you hit submit.

It's great for checking things like formatting, layout, whether your tags are closed off or not, and so forth.

Perhaps Barks you can go back and edit your looooong post a couple of pages back so that we know what it is you're trying to say.

OK, the good:

Game was played in good spirit...barks & the other Sainters seem like a good bunch...plenty of handshakes & congrats after the match

Singindablues' gutsy running goal from the centre in the second

PJ's efforts all day, capped off by a beautiful balls n' all tackle to stop an oncoming train in the last

fullmont101, Mr Versatile - took ruck contests plus got to the bottom of the packs to dish it out

The defence lead by Tyrants, under siege for long periods & fought really well

The bad:

Not being able to do a thing about number 23, who looked a lot like Doug Scott

Already mentioned but very poor form by the guys who didn't show. To those concerned - thanks. Buggered up team structure, embarrassed Carlton on the day & was bloody insulting to the guy who organised this. Well done, champs

Having to compromise by taking donated players from St K to bump us up to 18. Not a fan of this sort of thing in principle & would just prefer to play 16 a side

The pain I felt last night once I got home - you know, that nice combination of sunburn, drunkeness, legs that won't move - that sorta thing. I sent Tyrants & Clint SMS's that simply read :agony:

Not a great turnout supporter wise - St Kilda had good numbers in the crowd & we didn't!

The parma was lousy!

Barks' backward apostrphes (`) - they shit me

*********

From a TC perspective can I just thank Phoenix Johnson for his efforts organising the day - bloody well done, cheers

A POW for the man??? I reckon so!! PJ always puts his head into these games, gives them stacks of thoughts, goes to their site and gets the know from them. You're a good man PJ!!

3 cheers for PJ?

I have gone overboard I think.

Good on ya, CK.

Well said.

Just on the whole situation, I have been asked to apologise on both SS and HHQ. I have done so as requested, so let's leave it at that, shall we?

Looking forward to the match against the Roos or BB.

Ah one more thing -

16 players, plus 2 donations (who shall henceforth be known as Devonport n' Crannage  ), no interchange bench, selected CHF CHB Ruck not showing, no ability to rest players in the final term, no more than 18 on the field for us at any stage

.....I reckon 34 points is alright

A moral victory, if you will.

As do I.

Like I said at the Glenferrie I was pretty proud of everyones efforts all things considered.

BTW, any particular reason why the SS blokes didn't come back to the Glenferrie for a drink?
