Fevola for leading the team..iits obvious who the players respond to more than any other player and thats Fev..his work on destroying Whelans mindset was very good and cleverly done.

Andrew Walker was excellent...great stamina.
Luke Blackwell..looks like he belongs and along with Adam Bentick provided us with some excellent close in work.
Kade Simpson...polished player..I expect him to perform each week and along with Fev gives us some leadership..
French....better for having Bryan in the lineup....Barnaby has improved his ruckwork and looks more interested...
Carrazzo...he is a goer and you have to luv him but his skills need sharpening as we all know...
Fisher and Waite...moved around well and our mids got the message and looked for them instead of being 100% focussed on Fev

Matthew Lappin....team looks better with him in th side..adds class disposal and how often do you see him lose a one on one marking contest..never...great little player and helps make our forward line work because he has class.

Jordan Russell does some good things but still ha a major problem with keeping his eyes on the footy in marking contests...I think he will fix those problems with time though and I enjoyed his tackling efforts...

Finally...Brett Thornton....great couple of weeks..strong grabs and must be one of the form FB's of the comp....very good player and has turned his career around....

Amazing how our "clanger kings" Scotland, Walker (2), Stevens, Houla (1) suddenly had nowhere near as many clangers as usual.

in fact that was such a difference this week ('cept for that third quarter - ohh that sent shivers down my back).

Skills coach please.

Hit targets please.

Listening to the commentors on Fox during the game sing the praises of our kids and continually repeating that 1AW was elite footballer. Finally some acknowledgement that there is some real talent in our side.

Also I liked Denis press conference after the game. He doesnt like to give much away but you could see the passion in his eyes.

Yes, that is exactly what I am suggesting, twice this year he has revved them up and twice this year we have won - you could hear it in interviews after the game - how much they respect him etc.

If the players can only fire up when Sticks has a chat to them we're in more trouble than we could ever imagine.

JR initimated as much on the weekend that sometimes he looks around the field and is in awe of where he is or that he actually belongs on the field.

He mentioned that he had to get better at that and that will come with time.

Tex was brilliant - his hangars to make the spoil are priceless. Killed Robinson and likely injured him as well. 8)

T-Bird - Neitz's worst nightmare and his new beetch! 8)
Fev - LEADER :-D

Eddie - has laid so many tacles in the F50 - I don't know why opposition teams continually underestimate him or don't keep both eyes open for him coming. 8)

Simmo - The duracell man - just keeps on running

Carrazzo - kept persisting

B1 and B2 - excellent work in the midfield

Stevens - much better and what you would expect from him

Scotland - did the job without the fuss

Wonderful to finally sing the song and seeing Carlos, JR and Blackers enjoying their first win.

With all the talk about tanking and PP and Gibbs and whatnot - there is nothing that beats winning.

Our aim for the next few weeks should be to totally screw up the final 8 in anyway we can.

Just saw the game. Was really impressed by the defensive pressure applied throughout the game (tackling, chasing, etc.).

On Sunday I was in Camberwell taking my litte nephew for a babychino.

And as any self respecting almost 2 year old, he was sporting his Carlton beanie.

Walking back to my car, I guy walked past and made a comment about the beanie that I didn't quite hear and I turned around and said to him and that my nephew was proud to wear it [not sure if my reflexes this year have been lash back at people when the make comments about Carlton].

Anyway, the guy turns around and said - hey, I'm not saying anything, I love them, I used to play for them.

I asked him what his number was and he said 27.

Now he looked to be in his 50s maybe late 40s with grey hair. The first person I thought of was Des English but the body shape wasn't the same as I remember.

Does the Bluseum have current pics of past players?

DUC, may have been Dave Dickson, wingman and premiership player from the early 70s, probably about mid fifties now, coaches an U18 side I think. In his playing days he was wingman size, about 6ft, fairly slight, anyway that would be my guess.

Sounds about right....was No 27...stylish wingman with nice skills and was ex Preston from the VFA..saw him at a Box Hill Hawks home game...bit more solid these days...
Remember watching him play for Preston and thinking the Blues should pick him up as he was such a classy player and was pleasantly surprised when they did..I think he made a reputation for himself coaching Noble Park and moved onto the U18's....

DUC maybe you should have asked him name instead of his number

TBB - I did ask him that  but he just smiled and then I said what's your number :?

Gerry Atric - thanks for the Dave Dickson - you may be right now that I think about it.

You should have asked him about one of his TAC players, then changed the subject, then asked about a new player, then changed the subject.

He would have probably told you how every player he has is the best talent he's seen since the last. :P

Kevin Sheehan's heir apparent.

Yeah I get the feeling he's going to live forever sometimes too.

He's just there... then he says a couple of things and he remains forever the doyen of talent management.

He is clearly of supernatural origin. :P

Or did you think I meant Kevin Sheedy?

You constantly amaze Jimmae, who are you to question Dicksons reputation or ability?

Sorry, you were the one with the unique ability to critique every player at the under 18 Championship after one viewing!

Your ability to provide the expert opinion on every subject is outstanding, perhaps you have missed your calling?
