Good Article from Sheahan and straight to the point...Demetriou is a spiteful man and most have moved on from those old days expect himself and clearly to me its a personal hatred of Brown that has motivated his recent comments and I hope Fraser does challenge with a new ticket and takes Demetriou on....I dont see any legal reason why Brown cant be on the board and being a non whistle blower doesnt make him guilty of anything...

Does the personal vendetta allude to the business deal that Dog won against a company that Spew was a Director of?

You can say the name, dont be scared:

The Spew is Chairman of a company called "The Baxter Group" which is in direct competition with Fraser Brown's family group of companies.

A few on this site have suggested that and with Demetrious ugly persona I could believe it ....seeing him at the brownlow almost put me off watching..
Its harder to get the club back in shape when you have this slob using his position to fight his personal battles under the guise of representing the best interests of the AFL and Carlton...

Brave article from Sheahan.

Is there some way we as supporters can all put more pressure on the spew?

It's not just Carlton supporters who cannot stand him.

Now that journalists such as Sheahan are not afraid to have a go maybe others will be as well.

Perhaps we can all put together a list of all of his personal vendetta's (not just Carlton) and conflicts of interest in one place so that journo's have easy access to all the relevant info. Maybe a sackthespew.com site?

The biggest problem is that "The Spew's" biggest supporter is Ron Evans - who has one of the biggest conflicts of interests of them all.

Ron Evans is Chairman of the AFL and also past Chairman and still major shareholder of Spotless - who are the appointed caterers of MCG and Subiaco Oval. Now you might say this isn't a conflict of interest, however it is the AFL that arranges the fixturing of games at grounds, then why is it then that Spotless bought "The Mustard Group" a small time Perth Caterer, who were doing the catering at Subiaco Oval, just before Subiaco Oval was awarded all the Perth AFL games over the WACA. Coincidence - I think not.

Its common knowledge Ryan.
The AFL choose to blatantly ignore what suits them. Collo was as immersed in it as anyone yet he was a whisker away from becoming the AFL chief.

Its personal between Brown and DEmetriou, nothing more.
I was one of the defenders of the AFL when Wayne Jackson was in charge. I'd defend them against having personal vendettas and foolishly believed they'd always act fairly and even handedly.

Well, has'nt this dog Demetriou blown that out of the water? :?

Demetriou would suggest that the breaches that they targeted were the ones post 1993 - you know the ones after Collo left the CFC. Demetriou is fast becoming a dictator of the AFL. We need to bring him down he has far too much on us (what it is who knows?) and we are scared shitless to take him on.

To me the most important point in the Sheehan article was when he points out the plethora of cash payments to players in many other teams , including some in high places.

Considering this point, one realises that they're out there and Carlton were not the only ones, but the scapegoat. Demetriou promised that all clubs were to be audited to uncover those breaches. Nothing has been done since; the Hird, Lloyd websites couldn't be considered as a thorough attempt by Demetriou and Evans to hunt the cheats. Evans is just another evil and vindictive moron; incidently he's an Essendon* man. Surprise, surprise. Fair?

Demetriou in all of this is a two faced liar. Negligent and vindictive.

I hope the Sheehan article raises questions regarding Demetiou's commitment to clean up the AFL of salary cap rorts and cheats, as he has committed to do in the past. Waiting, waiting waiting....Demetriou is the cheat and Evans is his backer.

Demetriou is the cheat.

Demetriou is the cheat.

Demetriou is the cheat.

Does make you wonder though.

Why would Sheahan write an article like this? Seems out of character.

Just speculation, but maybe there are people behind the scenes agitating in order to knock the spew off his throne and take it themselves?

No, crotchless leather chaps and rubber socks.

I must admit though, I was in the minority. Whilst most were telling me that the AFL made decisions based on favour and personalities, I blindly thought they were an equitable organisation.

Well, hasnt this scumbag proved me naive. :(

As much as I dislike Mike Sheahan I'm really pleased to see this article. Like Jars said, it's quite a brave move from Sheahan. They're are not many journos that are prepared to speak out about the AFL, and there are even less that are prepared to go in to bat for Carlton.

I heard someone say that because of Black Friday, Spew received a number of death threats and to this day apparently does not go to Lygon Street.

Is this true?

On the Sheahan article, I think Mike is trying to say move on to Spew because you are seriously @#$%&! up this club with your vendetta, so you need to back off - NOW.

Take a step back Spew and let Carlton rebuild what you have tried to destroy since Black Friday.
