Will be interesting to see the clubs reaction once the full details are known. I think everyone in the footy world will be keen on seeing our new admin's reaction.

some guy just called SEN saying he witnessed the incident, apparently the Carlton boys were leaving and a female and male were hurling abuse at the boys who ignored them, the female was then seen to run towards the players and physically lunged at them. according to this guy the players were defending themselves and he couldn't believe the accusations being hurled at the players. Also said the players didn't appear as pishhhed as has been suggested and that they hailed a cab and left. He seemed genuine

If this is the case, the clubs reaction is VERY " dissapointing"!

I agree, I thought the same thing as soon as i had heard the caller.
My initial reaction was that MMs statement wasn't warranted until I reminded myself that the players were out at almost 5am in the morning.

Arggh its like Friday never happened.

Certainly Lance - but maybe not Scotland - deserve the benefit of the doubt. Lance has never cleaned anyone up on the field let alone off it.

Ricky Nixon just went ballistic at the morning crew on SEN for conducting a poll on whether yesterdays events would effect Lances captaincy hopes

If they were in thew fight or not the fact is that while they were on a "COMMUNITY CAMP" they wrer out to 5 in the morning at a pub hammered!

They are F$%%$@ng twits.

If you have aspirations to lead a high profile football club and you go and do that you deserve what you get.

I dont really care if they did it or not, they shouldnt have been there in the first place.

Bad form.

The publican was on SEN.

Said Lance was not drinking excessively, and said that Lance was looking after the other boys and making sure those that might have had a little too much changed their drinks to water.

Also mentioned that a lot of the other patrons were having a go at the boys and that Lance was keeping things quite.

How about we just wait and see what the TRUTH is before we go and hang the bloke.

Wasn't our community camp in Merimbula? Why were these guys in Smellarat? Like i said, Lance wouldn't hurt a fly, still think it's a media build up.

I'm with blueblood95.

Seems the guys weren't the instigators, but you put yourself in a potentially dangerous situation by being at a pub at 4am - and that is where Lance, and the other boys for that matter, went wrong.

Silly!

Anyway, I think the reason police wanted to question Whitnall was on fraud charges for passing himself off as captaincy material.

Still think that if you are an AFL footballer and you are out at 5 in the morning in Ballarat you are asking for it.

Especially in the light of the media focus in the last week.

I hope it is a media beat up but it still bloody stupid to give people the opportunity to make the club look bad.

All I am saying is have a couple of drinks in your hotel room or something. Arrange a party, dont give the 40 your old CHF from the Nth Ballarat 2nds any ammo.

After ten drinks everyone wants to take out the AFL star.

As a club we need to ride the wave of enthusiam and take it for all its worth. Not throw away the positives of the last week.

Nearly as comprehensive as trolling investigations.

While I think the players were silly being out that late, particularly when the PR tide has finally turned our way, Bluechucky has got the right perspective on this issue.

Footballers are unfortunately not normally members of Mensa.

The bloke involved was Synbad.

It is not illegal for anyone to be out at 4am.

Curfew is different. Is there a curfew for our players? In the off season? What is it?

One thing we can all agree is that an AFL footballer at a drinking hole after (even as early as) 11pm is not smart...so common sense should have told these guys that they are sitting ducks.

Sitting Ducks? Yeah, sad but true.

A pissed woman looking for attention / compensation / money to fix her trailor see's AFL footballer and jumps him; she's got nothing to lose.

Footballer can't do a thing, except protect his eyes from scratches.

Can you imagine how silly it would have looked? A woman jumping Scotland, who cannot raise a finger due to existing reprimand, has to endure her violence and has to take it, whilst lance gets a taxi organised and opens the door for Heath whilst the monkey is still on his back!

Shouldn't be in a pub at that time, especially a country pub where locals are likely to stick together.

Well done boys getting into a taxi and avoiding the trash on the streets.

Media beat up.
