Thought Jagga had a great second half.

It was a better result than I was expecting.
We at least played out the game. That was some of the worst umpiring I have seen for a while.
The game has gone to shit in recent years. These morons in charge will change our once great game to something we do not recognize anymore.

I reckon these are the key for us. We all know Voss is a good leader, but not a great tactician. We won't be ready to seriously compete again, until we can match opposition sides in these 2 areas.

The backline Thursday included a key defender who couldn't get a game with an undersized Bulldogs defence and a bloke who was delisted by GWS without playing a game. The other defenders were a Bulldogs VFL player, a GWS player who was a VFL player in his final year and a Sydney player who couldn't get a game in their ones.
And we're surprised we can't score out of our back half?

HOF and Dean will be very good players but they're a couple of years away. I wouldn't be blaming tactics. You can't pull up your socks when you don't have any.

Think he means Florent, though to be fair he played 180 games for the Swans and just wasn't fancied by the bloke who took over from the one who took them to however many grand finals

I'm gonna stand up for Flo, he's a solid and reliable player and iirc has been in our best 10 every week. Let's not forget that our age profile was completely [REDACTED], we had loads of kids but almost no one of note in the prime 24-28yo age bracket, so adding 3 such blokes - and ones with excellent injury histories and over 530 AFL games experience in top programs - was good business.

Ainsworth has provided some real touches of class and goals that no one from our 2025 list was capable of. Only Hayward has been a disappointment, but he has proven he's capable of much more.

Great post GX . Good on you for standing up for Flo coz he's been great . Summed it up beautifully . If you want " A graders " they cost a fortune and what's more they don't wanna come to us .

I'm not bagging Florent. He's a good solid citizen and I was in favour of getting him.
But you can't expect to score from your back half when you don't have quality ball users. We need some class with the ball in the back half and it doesn't exist. Florent should be a role player back there. Instead he's our number one kicker. He leads us for rebound 50's but he's also number 1 in the AFL for turnovers! That's not a potshot. It's stating a fact.

The point is posters are bagging Voss for his tactical nous because we can't score from our back half. I'd suggest it's a personnel problem. Where is the class?

Charlie is performing the way I expected at the Swans. He’ll get some bags no doubt but l think he lost his mojo some time ago.

I worry about Florent Hayward and Ainsworth contracts both size and length

I wasn't suggesting you were bagging or pot shotting Flo, my response was to Rod calling him a list clogger. I agree with you that he's no star, he's a reliable and experienced prime age player, the type our list was lacking.
