Yeah but you and I and 7dom have just wasted an afternoon arguing with him which suggests that we're not too sharp at the moment either...

I cannot argue any further.

You are right.

There's no other way about it.

You are absolutely right.

Why be rational when you don't have to?

You win.

I'd love to continue but I must retire to the salon to pick my nose.

Mine is a reason - yours is a cop out the loss of draft penalities is an excuse . The players do not want to play under this coach end of story - two clean outs in three years with another to come this year . It wont be long before the penny drops

How can it be a cop out when - as 7Dom pointed out - the list was rubbish when Pagan first arrived and before any draft penalties?

Never mind the years of neglect with your good mate John - we never rebuild at Carlton - Elliot in charge. For years the Club tried to buck the system and now we are paying for it in spades. It'll take longer than 3 years to undo the damage and Elliot's legacy.

The worst thing Jack ever did to Carlton was hiring Pagan in a last ditch effort to save his skin. Britts should have been given the chance to rebuild Carlton as Parko had done before him.

If only hiring Pagan was the "worst" thing that Elliot did.

Bag Jack all you like but he had balls and would have taken the AFL to court and won. Collo was the AFL's b!tch and Carlton will be as long as he is president.

That list is the stuff made of nitemares if anyone thinks that list was going to make you competative and set you up for the future you have to have rocks in your head..

By putting that list up gives even more amunition to people who want as much talent as they can get this year

Instead of putting all your Blame on DP and what he has done why dont you go back several years Sydney Blue and look to the Admin and coaching that set up that rabble of a team that was aging and had many years of draft picks pissed against the wall as well as some really questionable trades.

That list is an inditement of not what you do when you ignore the draft and turn your back on drafting..Also protecting Elliots regime for giving as Black Friday and removing 2 Years of draft Penalties to start rebuilding i think you will be very much on your own here Sydney.. The last stages of the Eiiliot Regime have brought this club to its knees and where it is today..

or we would have been another $1m in the hole through legal fees. Given Jack's success in taking things to court during recent times, I imagine the latter outcome was a lot more likely.

No way Essenscum were repeat offenders and they got a slap on the wrist compared to what they did to us. We should have had the balls to stand up to them.

We should have had the business sense not to put ourselves in that situation in the first place.

Yeah and it worked a real treat taking the AFL to court over the 9 weeks handed out to Williams.

Still got Deisel to play most of the year and he got Hamill to play in a GF.
Collingwood would never accepted those penalties, in fact the AFL would never do it to them because they are afraid of Collingwood.
There is no doubt that they threw those penalties at us because they knew Collo would cop them.

Ease up Wolfe, surely you realise that it's all Pagan's fault for not being able to polish a turd. As for that nasty president of ours not bluffing his way into court over the draft penalties, well he's just a bitch to the AFL.

I think some comments about pagan are harsh even though i find myself questioning pagan at times.

However it mould be fair to judge pagan on what he has done with the talent we have at the club.

The list was never going to be too competative.

What Pagan has done is developed Waite, Simpson, Carazzo, Bryan, Thornton, Betts, and Bentick is coming through.. He hasn't rushed Setanta neither.....

We just have to be a little patient and look at what he has done with the classy young guys we have...

Well pardon me, I didn't realise that you had a direct line of communication with both McGuire and Collins.

Benny it was a dream come true for the AFL when you threw out Jack. They had been waiting for years to get us and you gave them the opening.

So you don't think the salary cap investigation was the opening the AFL was looking for?

Of course they were Benny but when Jack was outed their eyes lit up and f#$$% us royally. They didn't want a sh!t fight court battle with Jack. They don't want one with Eddie either thats why they won't move on the jumper issue.

Not sure whether to laugh or cry at that one - if Elliot said night was in fact day, would you swallow that as well?

BTW, how are Elliot's other business ventures going these days? I hear Water Wheel are really going places with Jack on the board, maybe I should jump on before the share price sky rockets.

I think you’re exactly right. The pre-match speech probably went something like this:

Guys I want everyone to listen up, that includes you fatboy. Yep Lance I'm talking to you, drop the hamburger. Right now we all know that you've been playing particularly well of late, especially the kids. By the way everyone give AB a hand for getting the Rising Star nomination this week. Good stuff. Anyhoo getting back to the point, we all know that you've been playing particularly well. However unfortunately Synbad, some guy who posts on a internet forum and occasional stalks us during training sessions, thinks that you all suck the big one and that we need to replace you with top 5 draft picks and fast. And since he's put in such a big effort posting away on internet forums that I think we should reward him by giving up entirely. You guys suck and I want you to lose. That's right, lose! I'm sure you know how to do that, you've been doing it all year. Look if you do this for me I'll promise that I'll only give Morrell, Campo and one or two others the flick at the end of the year. Where are you going to get a better deal then that? Now bugger off the lot of you and make us all ashamed!

Can't you just feel the tankage :-D

No the pre match speech went something like this:

Guys I want everyone to listen up. Most of you guys, even the c-z graders are really superstars and you'll definitely take us to a premiership in the next few years. That 10 wins last year sure did help us have a great year this year, so I want you to smash the bumbers so we can at least be on another winning streak and defend the wizzy fizzy dizzy cup. Andain, some guy who posts on an internet forum and occasionally stalks me at home and can read my mind, thinks that you all are the next Judd and that we don't need to replace you with top 5 draft picks. He thinks the only pick we need is the one that comes out of my nose. So I want you to win at all costs, just like you did the other few times during the year and everything will be alright.

Don't you just love the winning feeling in the air :-D

Get your own material.

Whatever happend to creativity? Whatever happened to being an individual?

What makes you think that Pagan didn't ask them to win at all costs, it would've been a complete disgrace if he didn't.
