Has anyone considered the possibilty that Bryan and Russel arnt in the side because Denis already has them penciled in and blokes like Deluca, Wiggo and Davies have been told they really need to show something or else enjoy the Bullants this year?

Denis is playing the best side possible. If they were already penciled in they'd be playing tomorrow. But I'd agree that guys like Wiggo, Sporn, Davies are on their last chance while Russell still has time.

BW when I say penciled in I mean that DP sees a future for them in blue not just Red and White. Russel is young and will come on and I suspect that Bryan whilst probably not a long term option has shown he can be usefull to fill in when required.

Its a stinking practice match we should be using it to show case our new young recruits .

More fans would jump on board if they could see we were trying to develop and showcase off our future not showing off wiggins and prendagast . And when you have players like kouta and stevens and whitnal and lappin who are the only real proven talent you have on your list why play them -

The guy is an idiot

I agree with some of what you said - but let's not forget that Prendergast did kick that super goal in the last quarter of the final to win it for us.

I think he deserves another go.

Agree with you on Wiggins. He is no good.

I would like to win the match and see some youngsters come through at the same time. You can't put 10 youngsters in the first match, though.
3-4 newies is enough.

It's a good squad.

Sure, it's not a sexy squad...but it's a good squad.

So the formation could look like:

B: Carrazzo, Thornton, Hartlett
HB: Teague, Whitnall, Walker
W: Lappin, Bentick, Simpson
HF: Fisher, Waite, Houlihan
F: Betts, Fev, Carlos

RCK: French, Kouta, Stevens

Int: Scotland, McGrath, McLaren, Blackwell, Murphy, Sporn

IMHO, having Kouta, Fev and Stevens is not really a drama as playing alongside these guys should help the kids BUT I just don't understand how Prenda and Davies are there.

Those two especially have had 2-3 years to show their wares and have been shown to come up wanting.

As far as De Luca is concerned he still has the potential to get better but from the reports I heard he hasn't shown anything over the summer to suggest that he should be there ahead of Bryan.

I don't have a problem with being protective of the kids but I reckon the squad as picked sends out the wrong message.

Wiggins deserves a spot, as does Prenda...Both have been given specific roles to carry out which add to the team's structure...

Don't shoot the footy-player, he's doing the best he can...

I note that Foxtel is showing a delayed telecast of the game at 11.30pm (in the ACT)

Does anyone know if the game will be shown live on that other channel which gets the "live" stream from melbourne? (I think its the Main event channel or something....)

Would appreciate if someone could let me know...

Cheers

i think the earliest it's on Just is 11 PM on ten.

11.30 it's foxtel australia wide, so i dont think there is a stream they can show at eastlakes earlier than that.

friday nights i think were the only nights where eastlakes could show the delayed 8.30 game that nine show in melbourne. dont think it works with tens coverage of the game as there is no live/slight delay telcast to relay.

If Wiggo plays I hope it's up forward only. Anywhere else he's a liability.

Prenda's in our supposedly best side???? You gotta be kidding me DP!!! C'mon Dennis FFS!! :x

All the best to Murph, Blackers and Harts...will be watching the new blues closely.

Well Cam has matured a bit over the past couple of years so Hartlett might let him know their is a new enforcer in town!!
