You overestimate the power of internet forums, Ballistic. And underestimate the determination of people like Collo.

The allegations and accusations of lame-duck presidency from the media, especially due to his Dome job, have always damaged the club and the direction Collo wanted to take it, and if he goes, then we'll be unshackled from that.

Smorgon???*Homer shudder*

Will not be the face will be the president. We will have other people from the club being the face.... :?

Its almost too comical.

Collo didnt believe he had the support of the board.... noone from the board made any realistic challenge to leadership. But questions were asked.

Collo was a good servant to the club but right now we need more than he or Smorgan or Smorgans new right hand men can provide.

We need an almost total overhaul to the personal on the board. Whilst this wont happen in the near term unless something drastic happens...these blokes wont have the credibility to steer the ship and new positive influences will put their hands up.

The collo Elliot divide at the club is nearing its end and regrowth will occur.

That is a very accurate statement. One of the problems with us was the disunity after the Elliott Replacement. As a new man fills the breech, that disunity will fade and regrowth will occur.

My fear is the destabilization that could take place before the next long term leadership sits its fundament upon the Carlton Throne. That osrt of thing is poison for a club and something I would live without if I could.

For Collo, thanks for the effort. Nobody , not even God, could have gotten through this period without criticism. I just hope he is remembered as a Moses, leading us to the edge of the promise land, than as a Himmler, merely succeeding a Tyrant before Absolute Defeat.

As I said a few pages ago.....Greg Lee is waiting in the wings as future Club President; and already has some support in a very short time.

From Today's Herald Sun.

Youll probably find that smorgon will have 2 vice presidents to help build a block of support for himself... freezing out people like Lee in the near term.

In my opinion they will all be running around like chooks without a head when it gets hard...

Thats when the road will be paved for someone else. right now theyre creating a cushie nest for themselves.Everyone has gone one step up with Collos departure.... you have a new president .. there will be probably two new vice presidents.. and that almost gives you close to 50% of this new shrinking board...

But it wont last.. they dont have the nouse between them and they will be tested.

I think you're really under rating Lee as a fierce competitor who has become very successful in this world the hard way....a hard nosed businessman who won't accept anything but success built on a sound foundation.

We're talking about a man who started his multi million dollar business just 12 years ago with no money or clients; just a phone, desk and a computer.

He now has 50 staff in offices around Australia; all based on his extensive background in Advertising and Marketing....no inherited Company here; all self made.

And....he loves Carlton.

How does the process work exactly in terms of finding a replacement? Can we bring someone in from outside the club altogether and I don't just mean former Carlton greats like Fitzy etc. How far outside the club will clubs look in this situation? Can anyone in theory nominate?

should change this site name to "talking tigers".

why do we need a total overhall from the current board do you dipsticks realise the situation we are in financially why would you want a new crop to come with some brilliant quick fix that will only set us back further we need stability and the current board have a 5 year plan that they have said will take time id rather it take the time needed than a quick fix and go through the same shit again

this is the problem once Jack Elliot was gone so many have there opinions and want to get there sticky fingers involved some how cause every seems to think they know whats best you all know shit all.

Typical news outlets, chatting to the least relevant and most controversial person they can find. :P

Channel 9 will fire back with an interview from Synbad, followed by Sports Tonight interviewing BB. :P

I'm glad he's finally gone but it worries me a little that the man he wants to be next in line is next in line.

I think he was good at the start then overstayed by a long way. His performance at the AGM filled nobody with confidence

Have any of you thought that Collo may have only wanted the presidency to move Carlton to TD?
Wasnt it Collo who said he would get Carlton out of the red, and bring us to glory.
I dont know the full story, but it seems like there was a massive conflict of interest!

I am as far removed as can p[ossily be,no connections whats-so-ever. But this name keeps on poppling up. Very influential in background goings on, someone from the past whp has connections still in the current board is what im hearing. 2 weeeks in a row this guy has preached to me this persons intentions. Has solid support from within and from past directors. Would be a shoe in ( sic) if given the opportunity. Has apparently dipped into the deep pockets in the past. I hav tried to find a connection, but only a few have come up. But very close to current supporters ( $$$) of the mighty blues
