Vin Waite

They have very similar facial features.

Agree. They play a similar game too.

No wonder you didn't "pregress" past the Under 19s.

He won't be that damaging at CHF as he is 192cm, look at who the dominant CHF are in the competition. They are taller and have an obvious weight advantage that goes with it.

That's not right; there's not a big difference at all.

Waite is 194cm and 95kg.

Riewoldt is 193cm and 96kg.

Brown is 195cm and 102kg.

Tredrea is 194cm and 100 kg.

Sorry verbs....not right.

I saw Vinnie play every game for Carlton, and he was a long striding straight ahead, quick for his size permanent back pocket player.

And he was an enforcer from the start of his career.

One of the advantages of having Fox Footy and the Fox Footy Flashbacks!

I had to rub my eyes to realise it was Vin and not Jarrad when watching a few games recently...they are like twins with the way they move(d) on the footy field.

You are part of the reason the thread starter says Waite is overated because when you put him in the same paragraph as Reiwoldt you are overating him.

Two highly athletic key forward sized footballers with magnificent marking abilities who have dodgy kicks on goal...

I think it's pretty apt for now.

Is this a comparison verbs or am I reading it wrong with the comprehension thing and all?

It's a limited (in any sort of depth) comparison, hardly coclusive that "everyone" is overrating Waite.

If so many people were overrating Waite, I think it'd be obvious. What's true is hardly anyone is overrating him at all, and those three of four people who come out whining about "everyone" overrating him are rather sad.

All I said was that Waite and Riewoldt are comparable, not neccessarily on the same level though.

waite is over-rated yet you reckon he could be one of the best players in the league and dominate. well is he over-rated or a potential superstar?

What I mean is that alot of people are pumping him up to have a huge season from two "good" games when he really hasn't played that well and he has been pumped up for a while now, when will he deliver?

Well he only had one good game for starters.

The reason you think he is overated is because your expectations are high. I reckon he goes alright as a flanker but struggles in one on one contests. For what it's worth I think a few overate him when they call him a superstar but most here know his value to the team.

That's my first post in thread Verbs so you can stick your sad comments where they fit.

They're only comparable because they both play AFL football; and there the comparison ends.

You went from saying a few overrate him to then carrying on about people comparing him to Riewoldt and Pavlich. Meanwhile, the other post says "alot of people are pumping him up to have a huge season from two "good" games when he really hasn't played that well and he has been pumped up for a while now, when will he deliver?"

Hardly anyone is pumping him up at all. It's all a complete fabrication.

Had one good game and one average game this year so far.

Currently equal 13th in the AFL for contested possessions.
Currently equal 6th in the AFL for contested marks.

I don't think Waite's ever blubbed like a schoolgirl in a match.

Even when his old man passed away the night before, and we couldn't hang on to a 4 goal lead against the Dees to honour his memory.

They may look alike facially and in playing style on TV verbs; but they are/were like chalk and cheese as players in a match; and we saw a lot of Vinnie in the Heatley Stand.

From the archives, Jarrad moves more like Vincent than does Fevola, Whitnall, Thornton, Carrazzo, Betts or McGrath...that's for sure.

So you'd rather have Jarrad than Riewoldt? ......yeah ....right....
