Let's keep it civil fellas. Disagree, but keep the personal BS out of it.

Hard to tackle blokes who are 5m in the clear. Couldn't get near them.

Pretty simple isn't it?

Its also possible that this is everyone's fault.

The players
The coach
The board
The supporters for getting ahead of ourselves after last week.

You are totally right I knew after driving home from the Elim Final against Richmond I shouldn't have watched the 2nd half again, I have let the club down and now have to live with those consequences of my actions................

I had my fun last week, and wasn't expecting much last night

Same with me. Never expected to win last night.

Last week i went in against Richmond expecting that we would win, this week against the Swans it was more hoping we could pull it off.

Yep. Didn't work anywhere near hard enough. That is what frustrates me most. We simply didn't want it and that speaks to the mindset of the group.

Sydney are clearly a better team (and club for that matter) but were depleted and we had an opportunity to knock them off. We turned it up and played a very meek final.

The players were not switched on but also a truly disgraceful performance from the super duper coach.

Only 2 more years of ineptness to go. I just hope the damage is limited.

In the presser it did sound like he had a touch of the Roos' about him. Hinting that he is there to put things right for the next coach.
Probably just changing the goal posts again.

Read it your own way, Club, with your negative MM glasses on. MM gives no intention of being there as an interim coach ala Roos. He wants to get CFC right not just for his time but well after that. I look forward to the changes to come to bring us into a consistent, hardened finals style AFL team.
To put into context, someone like yourself would be moved on, with your pro-Richmond ideas and non support for your team. Don't apply yourself, move on.

Hi Birdtown,
I have made it clear from the start that I don't like Mick at Carlton and will be completely irrational when judging him. I think I have been consistent with that. I also said sorry to the world for overrating the effects of Richmond being able to spend a month preparing for last week. I thought they would be better but in the end they produced uncontested rubbish.
I have always supported the team. Up until this year I rarely had a bad word about the club. This was my toughest year as Carlton fan due to the appointment of Malthouse. He is an ok coach but I will be happy when he is gone.

I look forward to the preseason and watching the direction the club takes to get things right. Half the fun of following football.

Missed tackles are one deficiency but the amount of times we had 3-4 players just standing around a Swans players... waiting for the other guy to tackle him was the most embarrassing part of last night's loss.

Didn't mean we contributed to the loss Bomber. I meant that there are many disappointed fans on this site who were maybe expecting us to run all over a top 4 side last night.

Na ... it started Saturday night ...

On second thoughts ... it started the day we hired Tricky Micky.

What a pathetic attempt at coaching on Saturday night ... worst fears confirmed.

I guess the one positive from the whole MM disaster is that we may be able to get Dale Thomas. That will minimise a small amount of the damage he has done and will continue to do for another 2 years.

Roll on 2016 ... please.

As others have pointed out there are many worse coaches than Mick around, but if you invest $1m + getting rid of the previous guys and $1m+ getting in MM and his team, you better be sure there aren't too many better than him. I reckon 2 years ago no-one would have thought Freeo wd be heading for a GF and we wd be 9th. MM seems to be shifting responsibility away from the coach to the list. He may be right, but whatever the quality and deficiencies of the list the coach needs to get the best from them. If as he says we don't run or compete hard enough is that the coach or the players? Anyway, he is a good coach, a self serving egotist but a good coach. Look at what Lyon has done with an average list at Freeo, that is the yardstick. We'll meet here same time next year and see how it has gone.

So much sooking by guys who like to take potshots but offer no solutions. What would you change? "Better system" Yeah how would you change our current systems ? "uhh better systems" ......serious nfi. Judd on one leg and Murphy with suspect knees on an ice skating rink with no Carazzo or Curnow. Yeah I'm sure Ratten would have done so much better.

Agreed.

Some experts claim the game, tactically, is changing every couple of months.

MM simply can't have all the answers.
