The way we're playing now, if we get another spoon and nothing's changed, do you think some of the more marginal members are going to renew? I don't think so. When the game is getting uglier and the football becomes boring, do you think members will pay up again to watch us flood and lose?

Something has to give. The reason a lot of us blame the coach is that he cannot get the team to work as a whole, there are reasons for that - but whatever they are, he cannot do the job of unifying the team and leading them together to the goal.

As a club, financially we do not have the time to wait until we get better. Who knows whether it will get better? If nothing changes, then certainly things won't get better. Nothing new is ever tried, instead it's the same old excuses.

And why do the senior players seem to be not caring?

This thread is basically a petition showing the public displeasure the supporters are having with MR DENNIS PAGAN. It would be nice for him to see this, so he can get off his stubborn high-horse and start taking some of the personal responsibility of why the team is perfroming so badly, or at least to explain up front, what exactly it is that he can't do to get this team of footballers to win games. I mean sure Jock elliot was an arrogant moron that got bitr on the bum for it, but Dennis' aloof distant nature isn't giving the supporters much hope in his (in)ability to build a decent team.

It took a little known reporter in the well circulated MX newspaper to question Pagan's coaching. Russell Gould wrote a piece last night about Pagan's abysmal coaching record at the Blues and in around about way basically said that Pagan's days should come to an end, prior to the contract termination.

For those that do not know, MX is a dailynewspaper publication for people who utilise public transport around town and into the suburbs, so i'd say it's quite widely read. Let's hope that some of the major dailies apply the blow torch to Pagan.

Another legacy of our former friend Elliott. I always said that Wallace was the man.

Pagan is old enough to be able to fake some health issue and use that as excuse to retire prematurely. This will enable him to save face and concentrate and what he loves best - horse racing.

Win - Win.

Go on, Dennis - do the honourable thing.

That should invoke some comment.

How many pages can we get out of this?

We sure DID NOT need another new thread just for that!

(Thanks for merging it even though it makes my original post redundant!!!)

Ian Stewart (after taking time out for cross dressing) at least had the honour to fake some health issues when he retired as Carlton Coach after Round 3 in 1978. I'm sure something can be arranged.

Okay we have $3000 in the "1000 Legends in for $1000 - PAGAN OUT!!! - fighting fund. Please give that we may grow.

I read that too on the way home from work and Gould didnt muck around with what he thought and I agree with what he said...

I am neither for or against Pagan, for obvious reasons.
Though is the question really that he is a bad coach, or is it that the cattle at his disposal isn't exactly what you would call premiership material.
Whilst I have heard Carlton supporters upset with some of his moves on match days, he does have a good record with juniors, ie his days at Nth Melb U/19's & a relatively young list that he took over in 1993 from Schimmelbusch. In saying that though there is often talk about rifts with individuals.
Now waiting & being patient isn't something we want to have to go through, but sometimes circumstances prevent an immediate solution, drafts, draft penalties & finances are all holding back your club & coaching staff in what they can do this year, which as has been stated on numerous occasions the penalties of the Elliot era will be felt for years to come, especially this year.

Perhaps we could get Slug Jordan?
He got good results with juniors.
And Barrasi was very successful!
How many premierships was he involved in.

Where's Phonse Kyne or Norm Smith when you need them?

Do you see a pattern here TT?
Royce Hart was a gun centre half forward. It doesnt mean he'd get a game with Richmond now. ( although some may want to debate that)

Good points, though the reason I mentioned his days at Nth, both U/19's & senior, is he has a history with developing juniors into good senior players. That is the path Carlton needs to go, young kids are the future & the Blues need to develop them from day dot.
In relation to Royce Hart, I think he would be a shoe in to get a game at any club in the AFL, he was after all the CHF of the AFL's team of the century. Would Nicholls still get a game? Anyway, no real need to respond, I don't want to cause a tangent on this thread which appears to have alot of passion involved.

Nicholls would definately get a game considering Knobel does... Hey :-D

LOL... the thing is he hasn't got a game this year due to injury. Even a Richmond supporter would mention Knobel & Nicholls in the same sentence, you should be ashamed TBoy. Though Nicholls would take the cake as an actor..... old wounds!

Thank you for welcoming me into the 1000 post club..

Its been a honour to participate, i know how much i'm valued and loved.

Some might say i'm sounding arrogant, well i am and we all should be and the sooner we get back to being that way the sooner we know our club is back on top.

1000 eh just as well i have such a wonderful job  with some perks.

You miss my point.
I'm talking about Royce Hart now, not in his prime.
