In relation to Royce Hart, I think he would be a shoe in to get a game at any club in the AFL, he was after all the CHF of the AFL's team of the century. Would Nicholls still get a game? Anyway, no real need to respond, I don't want to cause a tangent on this thread which appears to have alot of passion involved.

You miss my point.
I'm talking about Royce Hart now, not in his prime.

He may certainly get a game as a player but as a coach "jusfogedabutit"

I don't want to ignite a short and sharp debate here BV, but merely ask a single question, which is practically rhetorical:

Given, your well-versed (and totally understandable) professing of our need to develop our players successfully, and your identification that players usually need a couple of years and a sizable number of games under their belt, why is that you label Dean Polo's career, and subsequently, his development, a success?

He's only played the one game.

I was having a joke with Jarusa, Jimmae.
I thought he was having a bit of fun and I returned the favour.

As for his development, I'd suggest he's been handled appropriately to date.
He's played good footy in the VFL and when a spot became available, (Kane Johnson) he was given an opportunity.
A quality debut and NAB Rising Star nomination suggest he's been very well managed.

I'm not saying his development is anywhere near completed.

Guys...all this talk about developing players is fantastic, however, if you have been recruited and cant kick it, you can only develop to a threshhold. The recruiting at all other AFL clubs seems to be skill related. This is a shift from 10 years ago when it was all about football brains. What has been the main reason for poor performance from the past 2 years?. It has been poor skill levels. Is this a recruiting problem or is it a problem with the fact the skills coaches can't do any better with what they have?

I've been a supporter for 60 years and I won't go to another match until the coach goes.

No, Patsy, got to the footy, support the club, but also uphold your right to protest about the coach or whatever you like.
welcome aboard.

Can the mods please check some of these IPs, since the Pagan thread has been all the rage in the media I've noticed a lot more STRFTP (to borrow from KK and Harf), and I'm seriously wondering if these are genuine people, or trolls/media.

I apologise to this and other recently registered posters if this isn't the case.

why dont we just ask the players wether they want Pagan or NOT... after all, they the ones who have to play for him.....

The players are talking to us guys... Are we listening? plz listen to them.... top 3 Senior players, top ball getters in the AFL, yet top 3 in Turn overs and Clangers.....

Wait, others are talking to, 80% of the team are turning the ball Over too.....

With the Exception of Whitnall, who is a Decent Bloke who will give it all he is got, the Body language of the players are quite Clear......They are Fed up with Denis's Negative Tactics and are Fed up for the Cover up that they had to endure all of this season, even when they won their first match.....

How long can a football team go on playing with Sort of football that can seriously Destroy the confidence of every single player??

How can a football team gets Thrashed and the Coach refuses to take responsibility for it?

whats more isnulting, He lets the players review their own game and come up with what they did Wrongggg, WELL what are those poor buggers goona say to him???

" Sorry Denis, but the problem is U.... You have burnt us all down.... We have done excately as u told us for 5 weeks, we even won a game for u, and managed to stay close in all other games..... We done it this week as well, until half time, BUT there comes a time when u cant hide forever...."

DENIS STOP your Conservative approach.... it doesnt help us.... We need to get Trashed and every week for the next 3 years, We will take every beating with JOY, cuase at least we are honest about ourseleves and where we are......

We are sick and Tired of watching YOU producing 10 and less goals every game.......... YOU have abandonded your true self and the tactics that made u what u are........IF you are a man of your Word, Then order every single player to kick LONG, and drag every player who will stop and chip the ball 5 meters in front of him......

YOU had a real chance to make amends by brining some fresh faces off the VFL team, but instead, u bring back 2 useless players in Deluca and Sporn whom u always Favor, fully knowing they add nothing positive to our Team.... Sick and tired of your Tactics that have destroyed us for 3 years......

This is not new.... We have been Screaming for 3 years, and i have always kept barking like a mad DOG, but no one listens... HE wont listen..... well i hopeeeeeee that finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy someone is going to take notice......

I have been a Carlton supporter 36 years. I have been a member since 1985. I haven't lived in melbourne now for 15 years but, up until now, have always purchased a full memebership, even for the last 6 years since I have been living in the UK. Growing up in Melbourne, I would go every week. When work saw me move to sydney i would go back to melbourne to watch the Blues at least once ever month. These days, I don't even know who most of the players however I always maintained my membership....until this year.

I am disgusted by the performance of the club both on and off the field. Older supporters will reluctantly see the resemblence between Carlton of today and of Fitzroy in its dying days.

I am not bothing to make my annual donation (read membership) to the club this year, as, quite frankly, I think they have run out of chances. The Blues are on borrowed time, and unless they can turn things around quick smart i suspect they will be out of business in a mere few years (turn things around - didn't they say thats what we needed to do a few years ago??).

Its quite sad to sit here and type that, and yes you might say that i am out of touch with the club and team these days, and possible football as a game in general and that may well be true. But to me, Carlton has always been a proud club and a successful club, even in the relatively lean years after 1996. All my Carlton memories, of standing behind the goals at the Heatley Stand end, seeing the likes of bosustow, southby, johnston, harmes, kernahan, silvagni, bradley, jeza, curly austin - the list could go on - were all of great players acheiving success for the club and themselves. However now, all Carlton seems to be able to acheive is to be the leagues whipping boys and the butt of all jokes.

So stop counting your money, stop looking at yourselves in the mirror, and stop thinking you are quality league footballers Carlton players....collectively you are an embarassment to the 100 plus years of legends and hero's that have put the jumper on to play. Instead, take this last opportunity to restore some pride to the club and its now long sufering supporters. The chances are rapidly running out.

Yeh thats right, stop buying memberships because YOU are not happy with the club. Too stingy to spend $100-$300 bucks for a club that has given you so much success over the years. Its all about YOURSELVES, "I am not happy, I won't buy a membership until the Coach goes etc etc".

How flower selfish. This is why we are in the predicament at the moment, bloody fairweather supporters. Well you can all piss off and go and barrack for the glamour teams, St Kilda, Bulldogs anyone ?

Don't bother coming in here, saying excuses of why you dont want to buy a membership as you are NOT a true supporter.

Yes the board has stuffed up, but do we still want this club to be around ? BUY A flower MEMBERSHIP AND STOP MAKING EXCUSES.

I have purchased a ticket for 20 years, and haven't lived in melbourne since 1992. And for you info, social club memberships don't cost $100, so don't talk to me about being cheap thanks! Perhaps you could let your head do the talking, not your heart and realise that such inept management shouldn't be blindly rewarded! Enough is enough.
