So your intention is to make sure we do turn into Fitzroy by not buying a membership?

Right now I'm disgusted at the coach, the president, but fickle supporters mostly

Firstly its very unfair to compare our current list to the great lists of the past.
We are a blessed club... the world has changed and that kind of golden era will never ever be again for any club.
Secondly, whilst i agree with you the club is a shambles and something must be done.. holding out on your donation is a shame.
Its a shame because it has given you all those great moments in life... and its abit like when your parents get old. there is still a responsibility to make sure theyre not out on the street.

Its up to you and every individual what we do with our hard earnt.. but not giving anything to the club doesnt help one iota.

This club will be great again... it will never have a 40 year block of golden success we enjoyed.. but its greatness will be in its inate greatness.

But it needs alot of people to help out... and of course the right people in charge.

Lets make sure we can do what we can.. as far as the first bit is concerned

....and i have no doubt the club will be in the right hands again...soon.

I have been a Carlton supporter 36 years. I have been a member since 1985. I haven't lived in melbourne now for 15 years but, up until now, have always purchased a full memebership, even for the last 6 years since I have been living in the UK. Growing up in Melbourne, I would go every week. When work saw me move to sydney i would go back to melbourne to watch the Blues at least once ever month. These days, I don't even know who most of the players however I always maintained my membership....until this year.

I am disgusted by the performance of the club both on and off the field. Older supporters will reluctantly see the resemblence between Carlton of today and of Fitzroy in its dying days.

I am not bothing to make my annual donation (read membership) to the club this year, as, quite frankly, I think they have run out of chances. The Blues are on borrowed time, and unless they can turn things around quick smart i suspect they will be out of business in a mere few years (turn things around - didn't they say thats what we needed to do a few years ago??).

Its quite sad to sit here and type that, and yes you might say that i am out of touch with the club and team these days, and possible football as a game in general and that may well be true. But to me, Carlton has always been a proud club and a successful club, even in the relatively lean years after 1996. All my Carlton memories, of standing behind the goals at the Heatley Stand end, seeing the likes of bosustow, southby, johnston, harmes, kernahan, silvagni, bradley, jeza, curly austin - the list could go on - were all of great players acheiving success for the club and themselves. However now, all Carlton seems to be able to acheive is to be the leagues whipping boys and the butt of all jokes.

So stop counting your money, stop looking at yourselves in the mirror, and stop thinking you are quality league footballers Carlton players....collectively you are an embarassment to the 100 plus years of legends and hero's that have put the jumper on to play. Instead, take this last opportunity to restore some pride to the club and its now long sufering supporters. The chances are rapidly running out.

The club does not need people like you. Next time you go overseas get a one way ticket. Long suffering, try and explain that to a Collingwood, StKilda, Melbourne, Geelong etc etc. supporter. You don't know what suffering is.

It never ceases to amaze me how people will tolerate mediocrity and who blindly follow. Call it what you want - taking your bat and ball, throwing the toys out of the pram - whatever. The facts remain as they are. Those involved have not been able to drag Carlton out of the mud. And worse, the players can't win matches. (Though i hear that they prance around on tv shows boosting their own ego's for whose gain? Not yours!).

And to the guy who claims I want to see them follow the path of fitzroy - what a stupid thing to say! Of course not! Just don't be naive sir! Unfortunately, its not picket fences and a few beers in the rooms after the game anymore. Football is proper business. If you can't produce the right product, who do you expect to buy it? I am 17,000 kilometers away, and have up until now continued to purchase a membership which never gets used. So please spare your anger! I dare say most of you would not have continued to write out the cheques for something you never would be able to go to see!

It's time for some changes. So instead, why don't YOU people, clearly all membership holders, demand something is done. Please don't come back with passive complaints like "it's not the players fault" etc, cause I am sorry but it is in part! How many more board changes do we need? How many more new players do we need? So since you are all so forthcoming with abuse, why not direct it where it matters - at your board and your players and coaching staff.

Alot of you think that Sacking Dennis is the right decision. I thought this for a while before really thinking it through. Sacking Dennis is the way to go becuase the way our financial state is at the moment a new coach might not be able 2 fix the problem...they might still only win 4 or 5 games under the new coach. I say keep Dennis 1.becuase of our financial state and 2. because a new coach might not be able 2 fix it up...give Dennis his 3 years and let him resign from coaching after that if its still a no go.
