Think they recently backed in Tom Lee with another 2yrs...?

Right you are. Amazing really, given how little they play him and when they do he barely plays a half.

He's too old Rhino - not even close to the demographic either club is interested in.

Dogs aren't exactly flush for tall forwards coming through - like Redpath, but Jones and Grant aren't exactly setting the world on fire 5 seasons in.

Yep

Waites reputation outside of Carlton is quite reasonable. The Dogs or even Dockers would shell out decent coin for him. Mind you, I'd take a 3rd rounder anyway.

A 32 year old with a history of injury and on field behaviour problems?
A player who has been dropped this year for form - by a team with, how many wins have we got?
You pair have redefined "optimistic" for me.

Time will tell hey

Wont be the Saints.

Both Richardson and Pelican have gone on record stating that they won't be pursuing any free agents until 2016 at the earliest.

"... playing the Bulldogs' first 15 games before being dropped to the VFL"

Why would we look at someone who can't get a game for a team that's weaker than we are?
(and who's had a lot of injury problems).

Conclusion : we're not. This is just some fluff put out by Higgins manager to give contract leverage.

I do hope you are right. I wondered the same thing.

Rumour is he's been dropped because they know he's gone and McCartney won't play someone who is leaving.

If he doesn't play again this season, it's plausible.
If he plays again, it's obviously bullshit.

Has been a great player at his peak.

Has been.
A great player at his peak.

If we go for him I'll spew blue lights.

He'd be a better fit at a club knocking on the door. Like Hawthorn.

I'd take him on the understanding of a one year deal and earmark him for an assistant coaches role.

His hard edge is just what our playing group needs.

I thought he wanted to come down 4 years ago but we couldn't do a deal.

I didnt watch it but apparently DB on the Footy show said that Waite met with North a few weeks ago and Robbo has put off contract talks until the end of the year.

Mick loves Ellard unfortunately. Brock said on radio a few weeks back he has a contract for next year so he must have triggered the clause on his current contract unfortunately.
