None of us can say for sure (unless you make shit up) what is being said to the players at training and during matches.

It can't be all DPs fault. He can only work with the cattle he has.

I know what your saying Baggers and whilst i'm not a Denis supporter, i am not laying all the blame on him.
I think it's the players copping most of the blame thou (Mainly from media though!).

I am not much of a Denis supporter either, however, our players do deserve to get sprayed in the media for the shit they display on the field week in and week out. Simple basic mistakes that even the best coach couldn't help fix!

Denis also should cop it for failing to realise such things like Freo dropping a defender back on Fev. Agggghhhhhhh.....pisses me off.

Anyway, I think we will have Denis until the end of his contract and I think after that he can nominate for his Senior Citizen card, put a blanket on his knee, sit at home with a cup of tea and listen to the footy on AW.

That is because we are so predictable. Every single time we go forward we go to Fev!!
Opposition coaches must love coaching against Pagan

I don't know the answer to that gerry. I'm not involved in that side of the club. Sorry.

Im not one to stick my nose into other peoples quarrels ( im talking to you Cazz and Ryan2000 ) but i hope like bloody hell that there is a lot of heated debate going on amongst our coaching staff.Holy shit mate,if they were willing to cop this meekly i would be mighty pissed off. They SHOULD be at each others throats.

Don't worry, the shit's about to hit the fan between the board and the coaching panel. Denis doesn't like to be told what to do. He's going to have to beg big time to keep Trout and Co. Pretty sure the media's on to this, so it could blow up very soon.

Won't be the only thing that will blow up soon, the board have plenty to be concerned about, including their roles at the club!!!

I think it's their way of being seen to be taking action; making a stand, being decisive, proactive and all that ...

'Bout bloody time, really.

Trout should have been given the chop at the end of last year.

Maybe I'm playing devil's advocate but I think we might be over-estimating the potential effect of drafting in new assistant coaches to work with DP. I know that we can't really afford at this stage to pay Denis out and that our coaching staff in general does not appear to be the most innovative and inspiring around but can things only really change when eventually Denis leaves? Last season we brought in Terry Daniher and Gary Dempsey and whilst I'm sure they have helped improve certain individual players, have they really bolstered our coaching stocks in any significant way from a team perspective? Look I'm not saying get rid of them but I just wonder whether bringing in new assistants but keeping Denis on will actually really change too much? I'm not sure it will. In other words if we're going to restructure the coaching panel it would require us getting rid of Denis, as the buck stops with him. I actually am one of those that still supports Denis but I think if we're going to remodel the system we can't do it in a half-arsed, piecemeal manner.

The media IS on it - see Wednesday's Herald Sun.

The story is that sticks wants new blood in the ranks of the assistants, but Pagan has made committments to Trout and Libba, putting Mitchell at risk.

Talk about the wrong guy getting it in the neck if that happens...

Board: stand up to Pagan. For God's sake.

I think at this point the board isn't doing it's job if it hasn't told Pagan that now might be an appropriate juncture to experiment with some of the younger players with a view to new season. Like say Craig Flint in the BP on the weekend.

As for betting on us for the spoon, I wouldn't advise it. The odds will be far to short now to get any value, and you can't trust Essendon* to do anything right so you couldn't be sure they won't pinch it yet.

You really, really have to wonder why the board (or select members of the board) think it in the club's best interests to play out this saga in the media.

Seems it benefits them by being seen to be acting....any publicity is good publicity where they're concerned.

Quote:
What is believed is that Pagan's contract, signed by the Ian Collins administration, entitles him to one assistant of his choice.

I assume that will save Trout
Hopefully Libba will be replaced, Mitchell stays on as coach of the Bullants and we can add 1 more assistant in a full-time role.

I think previously the board and Collins were too scared to face Pagan over this issue. This is such an important decision for CFC. They have to dictact to Pagan and he has to accept!!
