They also showed Holland blowing Banno a kiss after he was gifted his goal. Obviously needs another smack in the mouth.

Amen to that - revolting, gutless hack! A shoe-in for "Diving with the Stars".

Agree with buzaaah & headplant

To those bemoaning the loss of the bump to the game…you can still bump a player, just not recklessly to the head. Pretty simple.

And the Houlihan one was very different - he & the WCE player were both going for the contested ball & Houlihan did not have the option of tackling his opponent, which Didak did.

Anyway, the decision's been made.

Que sera sera what will be will be.

Next year i hope that Didak will be on (as Mandy put it) the end of a slightly high but clearly in the flow of the game "bump" to the head. A precedence has been set.

In addition we need someone to really finish off Holland. Campo! :? tried a couple of years ago and Banno gave him a taste.

The media are 90% responsible, IMO, for giving credence to Malthouse's "It was only a bump" statement.

It was decided a few seasons back, that if a player jumped into a contest which resulted in a head-high hit, or injury, that it would be defined as a charge, not a bump, IIRC.

If the AFL wants to arrest the abuse that umpires get at AFL matches, and arrest the slide in junior umpiring numbers, they need look no further than the incompetent sack of crap Gieschen, and his tool, Goldsphincter.

Just return to the rules from the past. You can bump anyone, anytime, anywhere as long as the ball is within 5 metres. If you bump them in the head and knock them out then I say stiff shit, its part of the game.

A free kick should be paid for anything above the shoulders. No reports, no video review, no nothing. A brawl would be nice if someone is knocked out like what happened on Saturday. It got my blood boiling cos Scotland went down, but shit, it was the best game I had been to in a while in terms of our supporters uniting as one!

As for Bannister getting a week. Jesus H Mary Christ! AFL is a game of netball these day thanks to the pansies at AFL House. Banno should have made it worth everyone's while and smacked Holland hard enough to break his jaw........maybe next years rivalry round will provide that sequal.
