Anyway .. moving on ... why are the club hiding the injury to Bower? No mention of Bower anywhere!
http://www.carltonfc.com.au/injury/tabi ... fault.aspx

If it's a 4 week injury what harm is there is listing him?

It's pretty piss poor the information the clubs releases about injuries. I like Bower I think he can be really good if he can get some consistency but he always seems to get injured. That means no Jamo and Bower. Who takes Reiwoldt? Backline is going to be a bit small and inexperienced this week.

Pretty sure it could be anyone, they just have to finalise it about 90 minutes before the game, but you would assume that it would come from a player named on the bench.

Just checked: incorrect. Clubs name a 22 on Thursday night (or 25 for Sunday games), the 22 is then finalised unless injury occurs, in which case an emergency is called in.

Come match-day, the sub is nominated out of the four listed interchange players upon submission the team sheet.

I fear that the guy best equipped to take Jack (other than Waite, who is needed up front) would be Thornton. Still a reliable stopper, it's just when the ball is in his hands that is the issue.

My thoughts.....bit undermanned down back and i reckon it wont be easy vs the Tigers.
Their midfield isnt too bad with Martin, Cotchin, Deledio, Tuck and Foley...add in Grigg who might get the job on Judd and they have a few rotations.
A new player in the middle named Brad Helbig kicks the footy a long way and doesnt mind a goal and will need watching along with Houli...the latter doesnt like it too hard but if you sag off him and give him room he will kick goals.
Hoping Yarran can play on the lazy Houli and punish him by running off and creating plays for our forwards.
Warnock should dominate the rucks.....Graham is a kid learning the game and I wasnt that impressed wih the ruckwork of Tom Derrickx in the brief time I watched him in the NAB cup although he does a bit around the ground and is a very good mark.

Blues to win but it will be close especially if it rains......

Will they actually play Helbig? The Tigers midfield has some names in it these days.

Not sure..I just presumed being ex SANFL and readymade he would get a game...another newbie will be the young kid Batchelor who is their designated kicker from the backline...uses the ball well but looked lightly built and I'd be hoping he plays on someone like Andrew Walker and we can exploit that matchup...

I can see Batchelor playing, but his kick isn't that flash. Not bad, but not great either. Smart player and very good defender though.

So we are missing Bower and Jamo.
Our CHF Henda is a bit underdone hasnt shown to be in good touch.
Murphy looks to be nursing an injury.
Yaz may not play.
Our backline is brand new.

The Tigers will be putting everything into winning this one. It willl be important for them to show their fans that the club has changed and things are on the up. This will mean a lot to them.

Could be a tough game. Us by a goal.

We need plenty od stronger bodies on our side...Duigan, Laidler and I reckon Watson too are all hard bodies. Robbo is hard at it.

We need to show them whose boss.....no wimps need apply for the all important opener.

Just checked the latest injury lists on AFL, Carlton and injuryupdate websites. Houlihan was added but NO BOWER!

Who actually really knows about Bower????????

Can't wait til the teams come out to actually confirm this! But right now I'm expecting him to line up

I've read Murphy out, Yarran out and Bower out on different forums.

Bower is the only one with any source, although the club hasn't listed him on the website.

He'll have a heart attack having someone swear at him.

Disclaimer: I’m generally a nervous Nellie. After a relatively smooth pre-season, we seem to be dropping like flies right before round 1. Some might say ‘it’s just the Tigers’ however I am concerned. With Jamo suspended, Bower out (allegedly) and now Murphy and Yarran apparently out, this will not be a walk in the park. I fear we’ll be in a dog fight just to get the win.

It’ll get very ugly if we lose.

Have to admit if those 4 actually miss then this game will be tough.

Not Frankie....Yazza.

Yazza needs to get over a few sore spots and get out there and show 'em all he was truly good value at pick 6.

Does senior mean 'old'? onya Frankie...you know what I meant.

What's this about adding Murphy to the unofficial missing for round 1 list with Bower, and now Murphy.
Those suspensions are working out really bad for us now.

I do not believe it. The Tigers would be loving it.
I hope the Tigers as gullible as the rest of us.

Still two sleeps and a couple of days before the game.
They should be right by then.
