"The views in this story are those of the author and not necessarily those of the clubs or the AFL"

Yet the article has direct quotes from Judd like:

"The players had a little bit of a different meeting that was a bit more player driven, but it's really been business as usual,"

"If anything there's almost been less meetings, but we're very clear on what needs to happen.

"If anything I think we should almost worry less about structure and more worry about playing with a bit of freedom, winning those critical contests and playing with reckless abandon."

Concerning me is the 'bit of freedom', maybe I'm misinterpreting the comment, but this seems to be a problem. Either the players are adhering to the structures and too scared to deviate or Judd is saying the structures suck and the players need to play on instinct?

Good to see player driven meetings, I guess there discussing the ditch the structure cause it doesn't pay bills, looking like a millionaire puts more money in your pocket at contract time so play for yourself?

Anyway its easy to pick apart these type of articles.

Judd is very measured in what he says publicly. Concern is that by the Adelaide game even most of the supporters knew the positioning at stoppages was awful, why has it taken so long to be adjusted. Nine coaches and now a player driven meeting allegedly sorts out some of these failing methods. Something is very rotten in our game review processes. No wonder we can't make any adjustments during a game.
I like Ratts but he is just not at the right level for this investment and like the first choice Voss he probably never was.

As for the below comment by Sticks, no mention that Ratts has the support to see out the year? In fact I interpret this as the assistants are successful and knowledgeable, Ratts is just the leader.

"We have had no need to as we have a mix of successful and knowledgeable coaches led by senior coach Brett Ratten."

I actually don't mind the way he worded that.
Technically stood up for Ratts, but gave an impression of professional distance & dispassionate assessment. All in a few simple words.

So maybe they weren't his words (??)

You know there is some form of damage control when they have to wheel Juddy out in front of the media, something he is not usually keen on doing.

agree Stone - remember a few years ago on field when we couldnt find enough avenues to goal and the solution was simply to put Juddy on the forward line - dare I say it IIRC it was ratts who kept saying this :yikes: - now off field they try the same simplistic solution

This club is too Juddy orientated.
Its the leaning tower of Judd.

I'm hearing a rumour abut Swann moving industries at the end of this year. Anyone else?

I've been pretty disappointed with Swann this year as well. Actually for a couple of years now. There's problems all over the place and we've hardly heard a thing from him. He'd be on decent coin too you'd think. If AIRCAV's mail is right I'm not sure he'd be a great loss.

Makes sense. If Icke can get a plum role I'm sure Swann, with his schmoozing abilities, could find something at least as lucrative.

Andy McKay CEO?
