although that great initial post was made a few personal insults ago, I found it worrying if that's what the people in charge of our list think.

1. I reckon we are 6-8 players away from being a premiership threat and isn't that what it is all about. I'll take a two years of winning 4 games and then be a good team over 5 years of winning 8 games and challenging richmond style for 8th.

2. If we keep whitnall/campo and blow-off draft pick offers from other clubs then we have rocks in our heads. Lance had a half decent year when moved to the easiest position on the ground - loose man in defence...even Jason Cloke had a decent year doing that job. We need a group of draft picks coming up together. St Kilda traded two of their very good players for draft picks and it hasn't hurt them at all. Anyway, wasn't lance sitting on the pine last year when we had some of our best wins?

3. It is no so bad if we get belted next year as it is shaping up as the best draft since 2001. From what I have heard from guys in talent is that a 20th draft pick next year would go top 10 in any other year. We have to think flags not going from last to 11th. See what good it did us in 2004.

Let's get a group of kids coming up together, let's nopt be afraid to trade a decent player, let's build a list that can challenge for a flag!

I think St Kilda discovered the importance of leadership tonight. Without it you fail when it matters most no matter how talent laden you suposedly are.

We were being told just a few months ago that Luke Ball was one of the most inspirational 'leaders' in any club.

Leadership is in the eye of the beholder and fluctuates from week to week yet people on here talk about it like it is a given and they know exactly how much 'leadership' each player has just by looking at them.

I suppose you can all bend spoons just using your mind as well.

Wasn't somebody mentioning that Kosi would be a gun recruit for $500 000 as well. At least our $500 000 club get on the park.
On the old TBV last year wasnt someone advocating we go after Arkemanis??? What 28 years old ????

But then this guy is an intellectual analyst.

PS Kosi didnt make it on the park.... but he sure as hell took StKilda to the top 4 while he was on the ground...
BOG in 6 games out of 8 he starred in.
Tore us a new arsehole...!!!

And plays for a club that everyone is getting soft tissue injuries.

And the club did offer him 500k x 5.. in fact it was 600x 5...

But then i am starting to question the club because it is cateriung for idio supporters that want to see us middle of the road forever just as long as we dont have another couple of years at the bottom...

I agree with what you are saying but Pagan is reluctant to play the kids and if the vibe is right on this site at the moment he wont do it next year either . hopefully there will be enough rubbish delisted that his hand will be forced.

Look were becoming like North.. not just because of Denis...

Were becoming like North because were a club who is shit scared of losing members.. we cant handle the huge losses..
North cant afford to play kids.... it had to win every game it could because not making the eight meant they would be out of business...

That same mentality and fear is where this club is at!!!!

The club doesnt want to be thrashed!!!!.. so the Russells dont get games... they have to do something extra ordinary to get in... be a Betts.. or play most of the yrear in the sdeconds and be super consistent.. Carazzo.. Bentick...Simmos..

What the club wants is the Bowyers.. big strong bodies that wont be easily brushed aside.

You have to realise were shit scared now of being failures...

Everyone is in survival mode is the way i read it...

Board too... they know theyre up for re election and dont want to be seen as a rabble... no matter what the consequences are for tomorrow...

Same right throughout the club... and the players too...

This club is existing on fear and survival mode... !!!!!

Were a rabble!!!!!

We will only really go forwards once we let go of the edge of the pool and start paddling by ourselves....

Its pathetic!!!!

Get rid of the rubbish and start again...

Yes we know it will take time.. but lets not get stifled by fear and hijackers!!!

POW - Totally agree, Synbad. Our club needs a change starting with some on the board, but the problem is, is there anyone who will come forward to nominate that knows what they're doing?

How many on the board? 12?

OK, we'll have:

Synbad, Tommi, Deano, CK, Camel, 7Dom, Mr & Mrs Caz, Prez, Sami, Tyrant and Karl Norman.

Should be a good ticket. Reckon we'll shit it in.

Love how you put words in my mouth Synners.

Think I said that I like Aka as a player and how I would like a player like Aka at the club and would have no problem if he played at Carlton. Didn't actually say we should chase him. particularly as he was/is never going to leave Brisbane.

But then you are very Rumsfeldian in your approach. Make stuff up and keep repeating until it becomes accepted truth.

[quote="Ockham's Razor"]I, along with a small group of others, had the privilege of spending 2 hours with a member of the Blues coaching staff earlier this week where a range of issues from this season were discussed, including players, drafting and leadership.

The following is a summary of what was discussed;

Scott Camporeale – the club is keen to retain him on the list. Will be at greatly reduced $

Matthew Lappin – clearly his worst year for the Blues, quote “coming out of contract is not a very good time to have your worst year ever, will not be offered 3 years.â€
