Agree, EB - Let's save that kind of language for all Essendon* players, and AFL CEOs :-D

For every game that Deluca is included in the side, Santana's development gets pushed back three. If you're going to include an awkward looking 500cm marking forward on a ground that's more suited to pacy, crumbing forwards (Matera, Medhurst, Farmer, Sampi, etc) then why not let it be the big irishman?

I didn't see the game, but from the descriptions of Deluca's performance, it seems like de ja vu... The difference between the two players is probably not that great, but it would give the fans some interest.

Similarly, I was even more suprised to see Callum Chambers get a game. He offers a bit, but what can he do that JR can't?

I nearly jumped on last week to whinge and whine about Corey Mcgrath's inability to effectively dispose of the footy (that handball to red's toes under pressure was a shocker) - but I changed my mind because he tried his guts out and ended up with about 100 touches. Wouldn't JR be trying his guts out to keep a spot and justify being rated as one of the top 10 junior prospects from 2004?

Gun young players are going to have their ups and downs, but if you throw them in the deep end, they'll always try hard. I went to the Dome on Saturday to watch the doggies (my mate is on their re-hab staff and is the new speed & agility coach). I nearly cried watching Cooney... He ran and ran and ran all day yet for half a game, he couldn't buy a touch. Rocket left him out there and in the end, he bobbed up with a couple of sausages and got into double digits.

Agree wholeheartedly. By all means, talk that way to your mates, but if you don't have the intellect or vocabulary to do better when you are at a keyboard with time to craft a response, you're better off not posting at all.

It should be "I would have laughed and laughed if Adelaide had have given us that first rounder for him.", but I get your point.

Sorry Woj.....but you're incorrect too.

The correct word in that instance is "had've".....(would've/should've)

For more read this.

But that's just an abbreviation, either would work

If he was doing this against Pagan's wishes, then he would not be a "Pagan love-child". So we know this is the task he is set.

Granted he has had a rough trot.

But the reason he is used this way is because he can't ruck, so we'd rather use Mcclaren to spell Barney. And doesn't do enough to play in the F50 cause he can't hold his feet in a contest and fails to outmark even much smaller opponants.

All people are really saying is that given we have Fisher (not currently obviously) and Waite who can use their mobility to play the role Declua now does, why not bring in someone else who can play tall and take a contested mark to play in the F50 alongside Fev.

PS are you the real SOS?

We ARE getting pedantic now....it is NOT an abbreviation....it is a contraction; and "had've" is the accepted form in the English speaking world.; NOT "had have"

No relationship to the great man at all NC - I thought apart from that obvious Carlton connection, it also doubled as a cry for help which was quite appropriate when I chose the name :-D .

And I don't disagree with the view that he should try to reclaim his form in the Bullants and Santy or Kennedy should be given a chance.

So this would be a fair synopsis:

Drop him, if he can't perform as a forward in the VFL or does but without authority, play him in the ruck and make him bulk up.

If his ruck form is promising, bring him back and give him a go. A bloke that tall and that mobile @ 99 kgs should not just be thrown on the scrap heap unless he is a complete head case.

He's not - so let's see what we can do with him.

Shit Gesman ! Remind me when you are around . I will put on my bullet proof vest.........Um ! Ah ! What was that again.Ya got me all confused pal......Agree DeLuca was poor on Sat night.I just reckon he has a heap of potential.202 cm,agile and quick for his size.In ruck terms he is still very young. He can only get better for mine.Sporn was one of our better players on sat night.Sporn has poise and composure and is a natural on the HBF.Waite and Simmo have been with the club a fair while now and have had plenty of development time in the VFL,Dont get me wrong,i like them. But cameo days are over for these guys. When these guys do it week in,and week out,we will get off the bottom.I think we are entitled to ask for a bit of consistency from these young guys..........Stevens has class, and for class to shine, you must be surrounded by class.Look at all the good midfields.Bentick.....probably a bit harsh naming Bentick i will agree Gesman. But still,he was little more than ordinary. But he got some superb midfield extractions in the third quarter against Dees to show us what he can do.

Still, its only a matter of opinion isnt it Ges.Everyone is entitled to have one.

De Luca has to go. He cant influence a game. He is tall and mobile, yet he can't use those assests to his or his teams advantage. There is a reason why he was taken at pick 72 as a 22 year old... a project player... Some projects fail.

He has no right foot, no right side at all, can't mark, can't pick up the ball below his knee's, he has butter fingers.... why are some saying that he should not be dropped?

I wish there was a plus side to this guy... something that we could work with but there really isn't.

He is fairly good below his knees - people are saying he probably won't be dropped, not that he shouldn't be dropped.

How many left footers have a right side? I can't think of any!

And while I can see why you might argue that it's time for him to go back to the Bullants for a few weeks, surely his positives are pretty obvious. Terrific height and exceptional speed and agility for his height, with fairly reasonable skills to boot (to name a few!).

His positives are obvious.... he obviously doesn't know how to use them.

Nathan Brown would be the only left footer with a decent right foot kick.
