Have any of you thought that Collo may have only wanted the presidency to move Carlton to TD?
Wasnt it Collo who said he would get Carlton out of the red, and bring us to glory.
I dont know the full story, but it seems like there was a massive conflict of interest!

Good conspiracy, but I don't think Collo planned on having heart problems during his presidency. He obviously feels that his health is suffering from such a thankless job and needs to finally hang up the boots.

Not happy that Smorgon has been put in place and I look forward to seeing who will take over after him. I'm guessing Lee isn't ready yet so that could leave the position open to everyone and anyone which means another election.

Collo should have stepped down last month at the AGM. Would have made more sense.

should change this site name to "talking tigers".

why do we need a total overhall from the current board do you dipsticks realise the situation we are in financially why would you want a new crop to come with some brilliant quick fix that will only set us back further we need stability and the current board have a 5 year plan that they have said will take time id rather it take the time needed than a quick fix and go through the same shit again

this is the problem once Jack Elliot was gone so many have there opinions and want to get there sticky fingers involved some how cause every seems to think they know whats best you all know shit all.
We should change this site to 'The Cat in the Hat' just for you.
Never heard aanyone as ridiculous as you and the brother you have thats "a big businessman""

The board might have a 5 year plan and were in the 4th year and they have not told us.. or made it clear what that plan is.. considering its only a 5 year olan and were into the fourth year. .. its still as clear as mud what theyre doing...

Still you might know what it is???

If you do.. you can share it!???

Collo is resigning because there is little confidence for him on the board.
Thats got nothing to do with us.

The problem is the rest of them are clueless..Theyre more interested in the fact that they all go up one step in the heirerchy now.

(Not including Lee )

Bullistic.. you clearly have no clue about what is going on .. what the repercussions are and how little we are falling behind other clubs do you???

By the time our 5 year plan is extended by another 5 year plan and we catch up to some of the clubs we will be 10 years behind.

Collo was not the right man to lead the club... he probably knew this when he made up his mind to leave.

The problem is we have no succession plan and were stuck with a guy who has a driver to ship him around town and a couple of other blokes hes about to make his deputies to tighten his grip on the presidenhip.

Babykissers and handshakers...

Theyre not the right people to run the club.. they wouldnt be there if it wasnt for collo.. they never could have made it without him. But theyre happy enough to believe they can lead us through whats the most important time this club has to face???

We need fresh bood and we need it NOW!!!...
Just to highlight collo wasnt the right man for the job is to look at how he is leaving it and in whos hands.

I have faith that Smorgon and Co will be spacers and now that Collo is gone people will activate themselves to take control.
People that understand the new millenium ...and will roll up their sleeves.
It will just take a bit of time to sort it out.

Its unclear how it works but it seems the board have already chosen their leader.. and theyre all becoming deputies.

In the restaurant game a favourite thing to do to make staff more accountable is give them all "management titles' and an extra $1 per hour...

thats why you come across so many cafe and restaurant managers in life....

That gives them a sense of importance around the business... there will be a couple or more deputies for smorgo.. that then guarantees support.

Theyre a joke!!!

Guess that's why they reduced the numbers on the board.

The Game.. possibly.

But Acker and Voss at least chase... and they havent been as soft as an old mans cock for the last 5 years...(I thought id let you in on that )

In the last five years they have won 3 premierships... and made 4 GFS

They havent been sitting idle collecting big fat cheques like downhill skiiers have.

Cant believe people who compare oranges with our bananas ...

Thats why were last....

When Carlton were a good side Kouta, Lance and Campo were flying too. When the side as a whole starts to slump there isn't much anyone can do even your boy Voss.

Yes they used their bodies like battering rams too.. to bust things up for their team mates.

Especially Campo...

Always where angels feared to tread you could find him.

Voss wouldnt be fit to lick Campos boots.

Youre totally right....

Youre an astute pupil of the game...Listen is i ever wanna find out about what Stone cold Steve Austin is doing these days .. make no mistake ill ask you...

But thats about it...

Don't claim to be any sort of judge but I do recall a while back you arguing with me about Pagan and the board and in the last couple of months you've jumped ship.
Of course Campo aint no Voss but Kouta was better than him and in the last 12 months still better than him.

But Kouta cant captain... will never be remembered for being a captain... a 3 time premiership Captain.
Campo will never be remembered in the same breath as Acker...
Lance will never be a Jonathon Brown..

But if you average out their wages.... our boys would have received double... and they have not EVER achieved collectively or individually what the Brisbane players have.

The problem with Collo, Denis, Kouta, Campo , Lance (i dont care about the Brissy players only to say they have achieved what few other players have achieved... 3 peat premiership players.. the greatest team in the modern area...possibly the most physically imposing team EVER!!!,.... have done and our overpaid underperforming prima donnas you compare to them????...is that they belong in another era... their real worth is over 5 years ago....

Time stops for noone...

Like i said.. ill come to you when i wanna find out what Stone Cold Steve Austin is doing and why a midget won Wrestlemania whatever...

Ok???

Greatest side? They never even finished on top of the ladder despite their huge home ground advantage. Their strongest year was the year they won their 2nd flag and they struggled to beat the pies who weren't much chop. Our 95 side would have stomped them.

So you measure a great side on winning minor premierships do you???

And you might think we may have stomped them .. but we wouldnt have over 3 years...

Again.. you live in the past....

They will always be remembered for being the juggernaut they were.. and for a Voss to be a cripple with the way he played and still attempts to play is understandable.. whats not understandable is how blokes like campo can look at their team mates in the eye with the rubbish he served up for years on the money he was on.

Throw anyone on the wing in 95 (inclusing me0 we would have won that premiership....

He cheated and fooled his way to 650 k plus.. and is still fooling people...

He is a cheat of a footballer just like he is a cheat of a human being.

Fall upon your knees before his alter.. he has you sucked in

hes banged you in the clacker harder than he did the rest of us...because you love it...!!

Hang on a second Voss is excused for being crippled by injuries but our captain isn't? Trust me Kouta has gone through way more pain than Michael Voss don't worry about that.

How would you reckon on that?

you think running on 2 broken shin bones every week, with the broken parts clashing against each other would be a breeze?

Anyway, back on topic...

Would anyone like to speculate on who might be the guy who takes over after Smorgon's temporary presidency?

Would Clarke be able to have a crack at it?

So you think Kouta has sacrificed his body the same way as Voss has his??

You reckon Kouta has put his body in (much bigger than Voss') the same way Voss has his???.

Mt Dandenong for the magic mushies...

Kouta has never put his body in ... his body has never hurt because Kouta chose to put it on the line for his club....
He has never used it to batter the opposition.
He has never experienced that kind of hurt.

His was a workplace accident... not because he chose to hammer the opposition to allow a player to come through.
Great player that he was but selfless acts were never his go.

Voss was both.

He set the tone ... and the others followed.

Cant all be champions like Voss on the footy field but they could all sacrifice their well being for the best of their teamates.

Chalk and cheese.

And please dont ridicule yourself any more than you already have by comparing Lance to Brown
Or Campo to Acker....
