You're right, but if the appeal fails he could get 2-3.

Where does the 3 come into it? Worst case scenario is 202.5 points as far as I know, which scrapes in as a 2 weeker

Either way, he's going to get more if the appeal fails.

His record was always going to count against him. I'd rather just cop it on the chin and give our #4 pick a run.

So, is Kennedy actually available???

but why should he get rubbed out for something that he shouldn't get suspended for. They should appeal it because i reckon they can get him off.

What's the point in whinging about it. Is it worth the risk of appealing and ending up with Fev out for 3 weeks or more?

Just get on with it. It was a dodgy tackle, and with the hype and precedents set on similar tackles he was always going to be in some hot water. This time he got pinged. C'est la vie, move on I say.

I was only guessing at what the possible outcome could be if we appeal and lose. But seeing as the suspension is two weeks, or one if he takes a guilty plea, then you'd have to reckon taking it to the tribunal could result in a longer penalty.

How many times has Fev been suspended in the last couple of years?

This is why I reckon we just cop the one week and move on. It was a clumsy tackle and whether he meant it or not, he should have known better.

I'm not saying it is necessarily the right decision, but is at least a consistent one IMO and I felt the outcome was predictable.

I agree it was dumb and that the supposedly more mature Fev should've been smarter about the "tackle' but I say what the hell, have a go blues & try and get him off. We've got nothing to lose really.

It was in play.
It wasn't late.
There's no actual contact to the head.
And it can't have been that hard a hit since he got up.

All you're left with is the fact that it was a front on tackle not a side on one. If they can't argue their way out of this there is something wrong.

What a farce.

Actually the only reason I can come up with is that Sachwabby has a soft spot for Hawthorn and would like to see them in the eight this year.

I'm with Camelboy here, if they're going to contest it they would want to be bloody confident. Fev out for 1 I'd take over him out for 2.

I don't care if Fevola can accept 1 week, I can't.

If you watch the passage, Fevola was making the play. He'd pursued the ball and kicked it forward off the ground and followed it at top pace. He was running full steam at the ball, not at them man. He then hit the man when he realised he was going to be second to the ball...which he had propelled forward and was following up.

To get suspended for that is bullshit.

I understand why the free went against him. It should've been left at that.

If it was worthy of a report and suspension, why wasn't fifty paid?

It had (don't be stupid) written all over it. He only had too diveret marginally and apply a tackle and then he had no case.

Just can't afford too put yourself in that position, it's not as if it was a split second decision.

Lesson too all - dont' put yourself in a position where those dicks have too assess your actions.

PS. I tried writing my opinion, but I stopped and realised I'd be better off quoting verbs's last post
