I'm pretty sure Watson has one more year after this, so that's one dead spot on the list until 2016

Garlett will be "hot property" according to SEN crunchtime.

Back in the team this week, clearly a bullshit rumour

Gee. By the sounds of things we will turn over a huge chunk of our list this year. Waite, Garlett, Robinson plus some stragglers like Lucas, Temay,

Going to be an interesting trade period.

..can't see us moving robbo on.... ..I can actually see a tonne of upside in him now under MM.. ..he can play a variety of roles, is a keeper.. ..foot soldier that will die for the team, and do it for fair coin..

Robbo has put off contract talks apparently but I don't believe it.

Robbo mightn't have, but Robbo's manager might have. I'd be surprised if he wasn't on the table. Alan Richardson was a fan, so you never know.

I'd say it will be far less exciting than last years. Where we picked up 2 good players - for draft picks.

If you remember out players who were shopped around, didn't garner any interest or offers at all.

Lucas/Watson/Bootsma etc didn't warrant a place on ANY other teams list, even at bargain basement prices. They were probably wetting themselves with laughter when we tried to offload them.

Our supposed trade chips are worthless.

If we are seriously considering a trade - it will be with pick 1/2 or Yarran/Casboult - especially in the afl, you have to pay (at the very least) 50/50.
The majority of trades require paying overs. All clubs overvalue their own players

But the stupid thing is, Carlton fans (and probably the club itself, to a point) both overrate and underrate their players at the same time. Valuable to us but worthless to anyone else just doesn't make sense. It's as if we are playing in a phantom competition with its own rules.

This is why I'm quite happy if we have a quiet trade week.
If someone wants any of our players let them come to us.
I don't understand the criticism the recruiters cop if they don't trade.

To be replaced (obviously):
Duigan
Scotland
Bootsma

To be de-listed (reasonably confident about this, and no club will want to trade for them):
Lucas
Ellard

That's already 5 new players into the club for next year.

Watson's got a contract for next year (dead wood, will be gone after 2015).
McLean's triggered a contract for next year (dying wood, will be gone after 2015).
Carazzo's got a contract for next year (dying wood, will be gone after 2015).
Judd will play next year (african ebony, will be gone after 2015).
Simpson will play next year (brazillian rosewood, will be gone after 2015)

That's 5 new players into the club for 2016 (and a whole lot of salary cap to bring in some quality...)

Simmo's contracted for 2016 and has shown no signs of slowly down.

Add Jeffy to your list of trades.

Gone IMO, traded/retire/delisted,
Scotland, duigan, bootsma, Ellard, Lucas, mcInnes, Cachia, Temay, Judd and Garlett... That's 10...
Probably 4/5 in the draft
1 or 2 trade/FA
Preseason maybe 1
Rookie draft 2 or 3.
Have some good young kids coming through,
Menzel, Buckley, Cripps, Graham and Docherty.
Reckon we need, no particular order,
Tall forward
Tall defender
3/4 mids with pace and skill
We have enough inside tough mids..

Still nothing about Menzel. Seems strange that we cannot sign up a second year player. Anyone know whats going on?
