Unfortunately don't think he showed enough to keep his spot at AFL level.

The "grinder" was a Gary Ayres medallist a couple of years ago. The best player within the AFL in a finals series.
The funny part is, if we let him walk for nothing, you'd be whinging about that as well. 7 years if the dollars are not too much is fine. The bloke will be our captain next year and probably should be this year. Numerous top 3 finishes in our B&F, All Australian, Gary Ayres medallist, John Nicholls medallist. Give me grinders of that calibre any day of the week..

He is an excellent player but he best qualities our his running capacity competitiveness and reading the play
His kicking ain’t elite
I wouldn’t whinge if he walked out the door
He has hardly been on the park in recent times
If you look at his whole career he handballs more than he kicks
He is average for entries into the forward 50
His kicking efficiency throughout his whole career is average
Clearances are not great for a mid
His goalscoring and goal kicking accuracy is average statistically

If you look at the stats closely I believe that to offer him a 7 year contract based on his career stats and injury history is ludicrous

I’m sure you and I would agree that the main problem the team had last year was not getting the pull but moving it effectively
The recruiting offseason hopefully has addressed some of the issues
But Walsh is who he is
I love how he tries his guts out running capacity competitiveness and desire
I just reckon he lacks a touch of class
Watching the Grand Final last year I remember Zorko’s field kicking which in my opinion turned the game
So hard to defend
He has become an even bigger impact player off HB

If Will White wasn’t such a quality bloke, he might say to himself: “I’m not on an AFL list in 2026….but Monahan & Duffy are?! Hmm, something’s not quite right with the system…”

:yikes:

Not sure about that played 15 games last year in debut season
Should have kicked more goals last year for the opportunities he had but understandable
Played a very good game on the wing as well
Disposal is a concern but lets face it that is standard for most ic not all in our team
Very unlucky in my view

I thought White offered a bit more than Frank the Tank, all things considered.

The composure would’ve come. If another club puts 12 months into him, they’ll get some good footy out of him.

Looked like a shoulder as well as concussion.

Curnow rubbing his hands together.

All we need now is a Cripps ACL.

We have to move on injury prone and bad kicks to improve. It’s pointless to carry them.

Last year we had a lot out injured on a weekly basis Frank.
Started the season with 13 out, ended the season with 16 out.
Whitey was good, but depth, in a position we had ample.

With Chesser and Florent added to our list, would White be needed for a wing with
Acres, O. Holland, Chesser, Florent, Carroll, Elijah and Cerra played there in an intra, Young, Cottrell (albeit injured), L. Camporeale? Jagga has played HF - mid too. White was excess.

The same applies to small forward with addition of Ainsworth and Byrne added to Evans, Motlop Fogarty.

We traded out Durdin and delisted White for good reason imo.

Bad luck to Whitey. FWIW I’d prefer Whitey on our list ahead of Fogarty and Motlop, but that’s just me.

Right up Bevo’s alley.

Scenario reminds me a bit of when Holman went to GC
Both battlers but give everything and young enough to improve
I think that mindset will keep White in good stead
