in terms of afl readiness, leadership and intangibles. weitering is far above any other kid for this particular draft.

he's a future captain and 300-gamer (health prevailing, obviously).

Maybe, but if the GC offered Pick 2 & Swallow, you would snap their hand off.

I think we need a Daniel Cross type at the end of the year.

My boys were asking why we got rid of Jacobs.

It's obvious Jacobs dominated the ruck despite Kreuzers great efforts.

Jacobs directed the ball to the Crows advantage at leat a dozen times more than we did. They got the ball and on their way forward.

We can't give opponents that sort of advantage, or we have to improve around the ball up.

Warnock and Wood are not the future. Need to get a project ruckman.

What yesterday showed for me was we can't have too many guys that butcher the ball. You can't if you want to be a good side. So many times we worked hard to win the ball, go forward and then stuff it up with poor skills.

Guys like Armfield, Curnow, Walker, Tutt, Carrazzo even Bell etc have admirable qualities but they aren't the future.

bell has value b'cos he'll break lines and apply pressure on the other team.

all the other guys are only depth, and if they want to be paid more than depth guys, it's time to say adios.

Excuse my ignorance but who is this weitering?

Last time I heard he is the guy tipped to be a top 3 pick in the draft this year.

Been unlucky this year with Sheehan and Byrne -would have been good to get games into them and settle defence
Injury to Jamison hasn't helped think Rowe who is limited plays better with Jamo playing
Kreuzer injury real impact

Seeing Robbie Warnock on the long term injury list actually brought a smile to my face!!!

I can't help but think that once Warnock and perhaps Daisy are out of this club we will start seeing the light at the tunnel. That may seem like a rude thing to say but i view them as almost like thieves for what they are getting paid vs what they are giving in return.

If we need to retain Carrazzo, it shows how depleted our list is.
Scary...

..I like Curnow, but his ability is replaceable.. ....great work ethic combined with elite afl endurance which isn't so easily replaceable however.. ....but as a list we cannot carry too many average skilled players.. ....a few ahead of him on the chopping block by my reckoning..

We seem to have developed a philosophy of primarily drafting/trading in players who have already developed their skills and physical qualities.
Isn't that what football clubs and coaches are for? To develop skills, address deficiencies and improve physical capability. :?
We seem too willing to piss someone off if they aren't at the standard we require. It appears to me we've lost the concept of what development is about. Not just the practicality but the inclination of implementing real "coaching" appears to have fallen off the map. You can't keep giving away players and compromising our position in the draft to supplement that philosophy.

If we aren't going to take the time to work with players, improve their capabilities and develop them in general, we should @#$%&! all the coaches off and bring in a football department head who understands the actual concept of coaching. Too many easy rides at Carlton over the past couple of years for under performing football staff IMHO. The role of the coach doesn't begin and end when the umpire blows the whistle on match day.

Or how stupid we are. But more accurately, how stupid Jon Ralph is.

We need a biased umpire more than we need another tagger!

People jumped at trading players just because the wanke$& wanna be afl player junornlists say so, makes me laugh!!!
Let's trade Henderson and Yarran, good idea because John Ralph and Damien Barrett say so!!
Why not build through the draft and if it takes 5 years so be it!!
Pick 1 or 2 plus another pick around 20, let's build with that.
We have a few injuries and untried players like Dillon Rainbow, Nick Holmen, Cameron Giles and the Irish boys.
Delist the list cloggers and for once let's take our time like other clubs.
Henderson is our only forward and Yarran is by far our best ball user.
Jaksch, Whiley and Boekhorst should be playing also.
Lets just take a deep breath and ignore flog opinions from David king and co..
We have a long way to go but trading players also rips the club apart..
Just my silly opinion kids..
