We are still in financial ruins. We are not going to win games at the moment no matter where we play. We have lots of supporters interstate. We could do with a hand out. With these thoughts in mind I think it would be negligent of our board not to at least consider the idea of playing 2-3 home games a year interstate - Perhaps in Sydney, or Carrara. I would support the idea of playing in Tassie but I think Saints and Hawks have this wrapped up already. 15000 people in Tassie makes more profit than 40000 at the Dome b/c the Tassie sate government chips in money just for playing in their state. Our on field inept performances mean that we are not going to dig ourselves out of this financial hole solely by trying to recruit members and our ability to attract quality sponsors is limited. Our best opportunity to correct our off-field issues is to try new strategies or else we wil be considering relocation within 10 years! Yet again the board has to actually try and make a tough decision - short term pain for long term gain |

I'd love it if the Roos went to the Gold Coast, and we took up their Canberra gig. Lots of Sydney and Canberra Carlton supporters. I think we could get pretty good crowds at Manuka. Would be an ideal opportunity to get a lot of Sydney and Canberra supporters to convert their support into MEMBERSHIPS. We could play the "low-drawing" matches there: vs Port, Freo, and maybe even the Roos |

Should we play interstate? Only for away games against interstate sides. It is a loser's mentality to go for these handouts. I don't see that the Roos have benefited that much financially. |

Agreed. Once you start doing these things you may as well shut up shop. |

I should have added to my original post: *prepares for all the whining of Melbourne-based supporters who only get to see their team 17 matches a year, the poor diddums* (I didn't mean your response, mallee) |

Yeah, but if you were real supporters you'd move to Melbourne. ![]() |

I think we should play 2-3 games a season in Arkansas. |

arkansas, arkansas...yeah, a bit radical, but some of the best ideas in history have been radical: normandy, traveller pie, mick mcguane, man utd selling beckham.....wait a sec, they all worked out terribly, damn. funny and obscure idea, i like it. |

I wonder what shorts we'd wear if we played in Hawaii... Do grass skirts come in Navy Blue? |

I think Akermanis was on the money and we should move some home games to Hanamatsu. |

O.K. I was told to come and read this thread by KK. So I'm here. Personally, if Carlton came to Sydney or Canberra to play, but both teams 'expressed' their game as interpretive dance, I'd go, I'd watch, then I'd sneak out my book and read. Hope that helps. |
