Post subject:  Cheer Squad Blues

As an aside to the important on field issues - does anybody know what is happening to our cheer squad? I know things are poorly on the field, but I cannot believe how rapidly things are deteriorating off the field. I go every week, but I never remember in my 25 years of following the club being continually and grossly outnumbered by opposition supporters. I can't believe the way people have dropped off.
Granted you expect it to a degree from the fairweathers...but not the cheersquad!! These guys are meant to be tragics!! Honestly, no offence, but our banners at the moment look like theyve been flogged from Princess Hill U18's.
Is anybody on this board part of the cheersquad? Is it a funding issue? Or is morale in our club just that bad?

The cheer squad has been bad for ages at Carlton. Low numbers, shit banners and little cheering. When Walker kicked a goal late in the last quarter I probably made more noise with my clapping in the 3rd deck in the ponsford than them. The club should do something about it, get a few decent adults to run it and let it build from there.

We should use our first round draft pick for Joffa :?

Cheer squad is 349th on my list of problems at the moment.

im unashmedly admitting I am a member of the cheer squad. The cheer sqaud is under new management, the poor girls yes that right girls and one mother have no idea. They have put there hand up for a job they have no clue how to run. Funding for the cheer squad is shit to say the least, they are having to use loads of sticky tape and crepe paper. they need someone with balls to go to the club and demand they need more funding.
THe other thing with the cheer squad is it gets very lonely down one end of the ground and it bloody hard to see the other end. They are sick and tired of Pagan shit and they are falling by the way side......I'm still there though with my minute number of friends  .

God - this is getting depressing... Good on you to stay loyal and to continue. I need a happy pill, or a lotto win or something.

Mikey I love this club, I live for this club. Sure I admit I have some negative views about it at times, but thats my passion for the club coming out of me. I will stick with the blues through and through whether we are winning or losing.

Rain or shine the TSS boys are at every game chanting, even when were getting killed like yesterday. Yesterday was Freezing too so i can understand why a lot of people didn't come out to support the Blues.

Well I certainly meant no offence with the remark about the banners. I think those few in the cheersquad are doing a great job with limited resources. I just find it a little demoralising when there is very little apparent support or atmosphere for the Blues.

Good on you Cheer Squad dudes!!! It was pretty depressing there yesterday. I was up in the MCC members (mates wife got us in!!) and the toothless filth had the run of the place!!!

A couple of weeks ago against the Dawks I was surprised how few Blues there seemed to be around the place, but yesterday was appalling. There was a thunderous boo when our boys came out and huge cheers for the filth. They say its always darkest before the dawn. Here's hoping!!!

Thousands of fans have become numb with what they are witnessing. Game plan or no game plan, development plan or not, etc etc supporters are dropping off - how can you blame them? A large part of the day set aside to witness overpaid footballers playing sub level football.

I am a cheersquad member, i cant get to as many games as wish but when i can go i will sit through any kind of weather. I don't know what goes on other than the usual game day stuff but the club supplied free cheersquad jackets which is good. On sunday we were pretty poor but the weather turned quite a few people off and the way we played was pretty pissweak so there wasnt much to cheer for. I cant stand sitting there and listening to the other supporters say how shit the players are. for example i heard a few people yelling out that JFK is pathetic and has given us nothing. I had a go at the prick though. The same guy was abusing Lance aswell

from a supporter's point of view, I spend good money on my membership every year to reserve the right not to go.

the club aren't going to make any extra money out of me.

but I'll be [REDACTED] if I'm going to watch that crappola

I'm not a fairweather supporter..... I spent a lot of my money on my membership this year and I'll do the same next year. Financially I contribute about as much as I can.. and will continue to do it

but that doesn't mean I have to go

it is just one of those occasions where with our standing at the moment support is difficult to come by outside of the die hards. when we rise again the casual carlton fan will come back.

i too have encountered many who bag whitnall, its so funny, it just proves how ignorant and unaware of the working of AFL they really are. i guess it just shows them as the d*ckheads they are.

itll all turn around, in due time things will be different, both on the field and off.
