I ceased reading this website. With the current level of negativity being displayed by so many on here there is no way that I will last that long this year. Prior to this season everybody expected that we would be shit. Many on this site wanted us to be shit so that we could get the best available talent in the upcoming super draft. We are now showing that we are shit & many of the doomsayers on here are faking dismay and calling for blood. We are performing very badly, but only as badly as everyone predicted. Does anybody seriously expect that all of our on field issues would be solved by sacking Pagan? Take a deep breath and seriously consider this, would our very average playing list perform significantly better over a sustained period of time with a different coach? Sacking Pagan would create many more problems than it would solve. Some people on here are openly bagging Andrew Walker. FFS he is a terrific talent and by far the least of our worries. The constant criticism of Nick Stevens is amazing – he is not the messiah and perhaps will never be a superstar but overall he is a damn good player in a very ordinary team. The delivery into our forward line is ordinary, yet we now have people wanting to drop Waite and/or Fisher. They are both returning from injury, are both relatively young and will take time to deliver. They need to deliver soon, but they haven’t under-delivered as yet. I could go on listing more players being indiscriminately and unfairly bagged but I've had enough of the negativity. We can’t expect a few very good players to lift the entire team. When you look at the worst 6 players in our line up you realize how far behind other teams we really are. Changes are required, but there is no change available anywhere in the football world which will quickly resolve the problems presently confronted by Carlton. If anyone on here has the talent, then they should step up and replace Denis, otherwise keep typing, whinging, sniping and criticising from the safety and anonymity of your keyboard. But remember it will be a bloody long season and at this rate there is no way that any sane, well balanced person can continue with the negativity for another 17 weeks. Regards Ockham |

Ocky, join the normal people in "TalkingStuff". It's much nicer there. And we have fun, regardless of the footy! |

I think its like the chinese water torture Ockam - the last few years have dripped and dripped and ripped upoin the collective psyche of this forum and worn us all down. Plus some chicken livered shits (yeah I mean you deano not supremo, you and your goose stepping, pink featherboa, loudly singing in the middle of the night crowd waving crowd) have fled to talking about stuff all and its like conservatism, this negativity - it will not go away. I thought we'd end up in the bottom four. I hoped for no more than two serious floggings and no hundred pointers. But @#$%&! that second half on sunday hurt!!!!!! I'm sure most of us will be fine and I agree with you but fear denbis will tumble because we have always sought scapegoats and because it feels as if this cloub just needs something, a new wind to blow away the debris of the past 5 years. Just hope if it happens its done well and that when the side lifts as it will as the lads get older, stronger and more talented is added, that people don't think Denis had nbothing to do with it. But apparently if he stays we are [REDACTED]. |

Regards Ockham Good positive post... ![]() But : our worst 6 players that are way behind any other worst six, they don't get games so unless we are injury crippled they have no bearing on match day results. Also on the worst 6 line, i would go as far as saying some of those 6 might be better footballers at other clubs. Some players need to be surrounded by talent to display talent. ![]() Obviously that is our list problem.. Maybe ![]() ![]() |

Nobody is bagging Andrew Walker - everyone can see he's a potential A-grader. People are bagging his kicking, which unfortunately is the one thing holding him back from being an A-grader at the moment. |

Simon V, Thanks for clearing that up. From reading the Andrew Walker thread I was obviously mistaken and thought that bagging his kicking was akin to bagging him, apparently not. regards Ockham |

The only scapegoats I have seen in the football world over the past week are the poor old timekeepers at Aurora Stadium. ![]() After 3 seasons Denis cant be considered a scapegoat. ![]() |
