I can completely understand this happening at the end of the year, or even a couple of rounds before the year ends, but 6 rounds into the season???

Ridiculous.

Reeks of Richmond and St Kilda of the 1980's.

Is it an office partition or just a sheet hung over a piece of string?

Man we are a rabble.

I am not a big fan of Pagans on many levels but why now, let him finish the season and then lets talk.

This year he has shown an ability to change his game plan, not that it is working, but still. We are not that far off winning and many games could have gone the other way this year.

I would urge people not to sign any petition calling for a change of coach unless it was signed by all the senior players first. They are the only ones that can say we need a new coach and even then i'd be skeptical

Oh and ha, ha Billy

This taken from todays paper.

Fans on several football websites have been debating the Pagan issue.

Yesterday on Bigfooty.com "CammoU" who later identified himself as Uni Student, Cameron Read, asked for voulenteers to help in getting signatures for a partiton calling for Pagan's removal

This answers the question about who is asking for it.

(and yes the same Cammo who was once on here.)

Take any chance to get rid of him. Be ridiculous to put up with a season that could degenirate into that of last year's farce. Give another coach a time to try things, time to maybe turn things around, time to decide better who he wants and not wants, and get time to play and develop the team under his system.

They're going to partition Denis?

Who's getting what proportions?

As long as the petition has a cheque attached too pay him out - then no worries.

I would love too see a Barry Mitchell coaching with an assistant coach of Brett Ratten.

However, it is not as easy as just sacking the coach.

I dont know who this Cammo is....but at least he will willing to put it out there...he is just as frustrated as everybody else and devasted to see where his beloved blues are...at least he is having a go..whether you might think its right or wrong...I appulad him for having the guts instead of just us whinging not doing anything about it...

what is everybody scared of de stablising club....I hate to state the obvious we have been de stablised for the last 5 years its time to make a stance!!!!!!!!!!!

You never know if the players see how passionate we are about getting our club great again then you never know what they may think....are we really going to wait until 2008 until he goes and the posbility of losing some good potentail great players...eg Fevola, Walker, Murphy,Whitnall, Stevens

Time is ticking....

Footy's a passionate game - on and off the field.

I don't think a petition is going to see the coach gone before the end of the year but at least it can let our often blind management see the writing on the wall.

sorry, just trying to get some metaphor action.

Absolute crap! Pagans time may have come, but really a petition! I don't think even Richmond supporters stoop this low.

It will fail ... but the media will love it... more negative stories about the Blues. Great.

Not really that smart an idea....you need to talk to the man and work out an arrangement where he leaves with his dignity intact and a suitable pay out deal...not try and bully bounce him out.....it cant be messy and both sides need to act in professional manner, supporter anger wont worry an old stager like Denis too much...

He bully bounced some good servants of this club, it's his time now. He needs to go now before any more damage is done.

I don't see what the harm is.... its a meaningless device intended to indicate a groundswell of low-confidence in Pagan.. and there IS a groundswell of low-confidence in Pagan..... we can hide behind our internet personas, but we should take any opportunity to send A message to the club that we're unhappy with Denis and we demand change... the Club aren't going to sack him based on a PETITION started by Cammo..... (although, Clive Waterhouse DID call him back the next day, so maybe he CAN make an impact!!).....

.. but they might take it into account when, say, at the end of the season they talk about how successful Pagan has been

Understand the anger and keen efforts of cammo but at the end of the day Pagan has a contract and if he gets shoved its the money up front.....I would rather let him leave gracefully and deal with him over the contract....money over 5 years instead of up front and a bit more thrown into get him interested so he doesnt have to rely on Peter Costellos superannuation tax bonus....remember its business.....and you have to stay smart...this is probably his last coaching gig so he will wanting max payout....racehorses dont make for a cheap retirement....
