Quote:
Which should have been easy except that when Nine first put forward its nomination, Nicole Livingstone, she wanted to don her beloved Carlton jumper, but the network was told, sorry, that strip had already been offered to another Blues devotee, The Sunday Age's Sam Lane.

The same applied to Ten. When the league suggested that Sydneysider Sandra Sully would be the ideal choice for the Swans, the late-night newsreader said (ever so politely, of course) that if she couldn't wear the colours of Carlton (her team, too) she wouldn't be representing anyone.

You go girls !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Nicole Livingstone would be an interesting person to get involved in the club.... seems very bright and has been around the business of sport in quite a few capacities.

At the very least she would not get to "involved" in the handling of the number 5 guersney.

I've thought the same thing Tyrant. She would have a good grasp on what it takes to be an elite athelete plus she has a lot of experience in the media. Something we are severly lacking at present.

Me too Mr. Whippy.

This is such a great initiative. :-D

Has there ever been a better place to rest your stubby than on the back of a naked woman on all fours?

GWS I have a lot of respect for you and what you bring to this forum. However, as a woman, I found that last comment quite offensive.

Sorry slo mo - it was entirely tongue in cheek.

No worries GWS, sometimes sarcasm (or tongue-in-cheekness) can get lost in its written form. Just thought I'd say something before it went any further down-hill.

Whilst I understand it's tongue in cheek GWS, it deosn't make me feel very good at all & people wonder why I get so fired up when talking about football. Believe it or not, some women can actually contribute more than keeping out of the way of the tv, handing you your beer & turning up the tv on demand. Get out of the 50's guys. :garthp: :garthp:

incidentally, and this isn't really relevant to the discussion at hand, but some of the most feral footy fans I've ever met have been women..... and I'm not just talking about these days..... my great grandma was a mental North supporter who'd poke people with knitting needles if they bagged her favourite players.
