Post subject: | Elliott behind Pratt rumour |
![]() Realiable Sources have indicated that John Elliott is behind the Richard Pratt rumour. Richard Pratt confirmed that it is only a rumour and he has not in any way indicated that he would put $7million into the club if this board walks. As for Armed Farou (NAB CEO) he has no intention at this stage to be a Director, let alone President however he will continue to do a lot of work behind the scenes and has no intention of distabalising the club. It's about time Elliott and his cronies stop trying to drive a wedge through our great club. Elliott should just accept the fact that he was thrown out by the members and just move on. |

Pratt confirmed that it was only a rumour on another site today. As for Farou who has been mentioned as the possible President of the Pratt ticket, this couldn't be further from the truth as he is currently doing a lot of work for this current board and does not want any title. |

Well he might be stupid.... but i dont think hes that dumb... I think we have to give this abit of time and see if it grows any legs. I think it will all hedge on what Faroud decides... When called by MMM yesterday he "declined to answer because it was sensitive" which means he didnt cataguorically rule anything out... |

Yeah but he did not say..." i wont be putting up my hand earnt and i certainly wont be backing any future president " did he?? dont you watch the news.... like party elections and challenges Italian Blue?? Its one thing to deny things and its another to rule them our completely and make a public statement in doing so.... I reckon there is a difference... |

I'm thinking the Pratt boy is playing a straight bat ATM. After all, no discussions with Smorgon have eventuated!!! Pratt never said there wasn't anything happening in the background in the way of planning. Remember, you have to get your ducks lined up before coming out with anything official, so all bases are covered. Let's just wait and see, but where there's smoke......you know the rest ![]() |

If this rumour were true and Pratt did indeed put in $7million, it would be great for the club but it won't happen if he is chasing Farour as Farour has given his word to the current board that he is not involved. He has been given an open invitation to become a Director and has declined on the basis that he would rather be an ambassodor of the club which he is currently doing anyway. Synbad, just ask yourself why a 72 year old man like Pratt would want to put $7million into the club now when he had the chance to do so back in 2002 when he could have formed a ticket and won quite easily. This is another pathetic effort by Elliott to get back at this board for throwing him out. |

But on what basis would a 63 year old man with no money or entitlemnts to hold office use a 72 year old mans name (who by the way hasnt cataguorically said he was interested in getting inloveds name?) Like i can understand it if tonight Pratt said "under no circumstances am i getting involved in any of this" But he hasnt said exactly that has he???? If he comes out and says that.... id believe it Italian Blue... Pratt knows what that story means to Carlton and its supporters... A cataguoric.. "No show""would put it to bed... But of course your sources (I know who they are having been running around like chickens shit scared all weekend.. and have reported to you... (Pratt has BIG TROUBLES... and we have the guarantees they wont do it" Like you told me yesterday.... ![]() But this kind of stuff doesnt work like that unless.,they get a cataguoric"NO!" theyre really shit scared....even if they want to believe it... |

This sounds like a denial to me Billionaire businessman Richard Pratt has denied a rumour he wanted the Carlton board to resign in return for massive financial aid to the AFL club. Pratt, one of Australia's richest men, told AAP: "There is no truth in the rumour". No means No doesn't it |

Italian Blue, what Synbad is trying to say is similar to when a football club President says "the coach has the full backing of the board". He says it but he really does not mean it ![]() |

Were just going to have to wait n see.... Well if thats what he said ... id semi believe that ... But its about being organsed with the people you entrust to hand that kind of money over to. If Fahour says "No!" well that limits things and were worse off... |

This dude seems to pop up his head anytime something political brews. Didn't Synbad say on this web site that IB is Ross from the unofficial selection committee. Isn't he on our social club board?? Could you imagine a club like Collingwood/West Coast or even the Western bulldogs having a guy like that on their board...dont think so. no wonder we are in such a mess |

Look its not Ross... but ...!!! .... its important to note that each time something pops up... we blame it on the Boogeyman Elliot... Its abit like the GW Bush... Terrorist argument.. Or the reds under the beds ... Its just easier isnt it?? Ill stick my neck out now and say that Pratt isnt happy with the goings on and if he can organise a group that can do better he will... He still has not said "I throw my support behind the current board .. blah blah blah"..... |

my tip is that Malouf is a bit on the nose with some of the movers and shakers. Lives in Geelong apparently. Doesn't put in 16 hour days like some other CEOs.... We need Dicky Pratt - he's our great white hope (plus Mathieson)... |

Does everyone really believe that Elliott is that bad for the club? I mean I know quite a few people who would like to see Elliot back at the helm. I know I would. Say what you will about the mans methods - But make no mistake he was effective. He made people work. Its such a cop out to say that he is the only reason we are where we are today. But what about all the premierships.... Is there anyone who would like to see Elliot back? |

cinque, did you miss that bit about the finances of the club being so diabolical when elliot was ousted that mathieson and the other board members seriously considered winding the joint up? by all accounts it took a team of numbers men around 2 years to sort out the mess. And we're still 7million in the red now. you might also have missed that bit about elliot being banned from serving on any board for a period of 10 years, as a result of the waterwheel debacle. and were you overseas at the time we were found guilty of handing out brown paper bags full of cash to players the 'quality' of stephen o'reilly? You know, that little thing that has just about crippled our club on-field. so let's see... he inherited a club from George Harris and Ian Rice that had just won 3 premierships in 4 years. a club that sat at the top of the heap, both on the field and off the field. he left the club at the bottom of the heap, both on the field and off the field. these people who want him back... do they know how to tie their own shoelaces, by any chance? or do they wear slip-ons? |
