It just goes to show if your team is up for it on the day with a bit of luck (yes i know we need more luck than others) they have a very good chance of winning. We have proven that against Melbourne and Essendon*. Positive attitude with great endevour and unselfishness will get you a long way (not forgetting a little talant to). Remember a champion team will always beat a team of champions.
GO BLUES !

With all the doom and gloom of past week it's easy to forget that we were a chance of winning all of the matches this year apart from the one against the Pies.
And even the Bombres have been close all year and just not quite good enough to notch up a few more wins. Poor Essendon* 8)

think some have been less upset at losing than the way in which we have been playing. For mine, we flooded a lot less yesterday than in previous rounds (when players looked up there was something to kick to) and that made all the difference.

Absolutely. We looked to move the ball on at every opportunity. It came unstuck a number of times, and better sides will crucify us, but we created a lot more opportunities than we would have playing our usual game style.

The level of flooding utilised is propotional to the level of midfield control you have though. The only midfielder they had was Watson and alot of the ball was fought for in the middle part of the ground, not necessarily their F50. We just didnt flood as much because their midfield is no better than ours - look at all of our middies having solid to good games and this is brought to bear.

Come next week and we will be flooding as much as required to try to stop avalanches of goals against us.

Will Livo come in for Gehrig? Wouldnt Gehrig be too fast for Whitnall ala Croad? Or would you play Thornton at FB and WHitnall on Riewoldt?

No worries Sydney!

Check out the St Kilda thread though - I am an optimist at heart and with some match-ups right I think we can challenge them.

Flooding beats Gehrig - 1 out in the F50 he'll kill us. I vote flooding.

Livo's been sidelined due to a back injury. Is listed as "Test" this week but I'd expect him to return to VFL if/ when fit.
