Post subject: | Pie night |
The lad's pie night had Josh Kennedy and young Blackers as the two Carlton lads. happy as a pig in shit. Blackers is in the squad this week and both feel he is close to getting a gig. @#$%&! I'd love it to be against the Sainters. They are not a fast side. It might be a good time to give him a sniff. fingers crossed. Shit Josh is a big lad up close. And Blackers seems to have filled out some. Both great with the kids - especially Josh who took their attempted barbs with good grace and gave the carlton lads (of which there are about 5 in Jack's side) special attention - as they should! |

Yeah but would we replace him with a small? Then again, we don't really have any other talls that are screaming out for selection.. Maybe: In: French, Blackers Out: Deluca, Fisher |

Kennedy to play the full game in place of Fish and another midfielder in Blacker to work the part of the ground that the Saints dominate in. That'd be a clever selection. |

Yep. Fish actually plays as both a semi midfielder and a semi tall (hence his worth to the club) but Josh can play the tall so bring in a midfielder. Not saying it is going to happen but its nice to know he is in the squad and close. Bet you a golden calf that De Luca stays in! which will make Tyrant very happy I should think. ![]() |

Dont rule out Bower with a very good game in the ressies word has it that he too is pushing for a spot along with Blackers. |

I defintiely think Longmuir will come in this week.....He will replace Fish he can play forward or midfield. He has been very good in the Ants and deserves a chance |

Hmm... interesting conundrum... do we bring in Longmuir to play alongside DeLuca? I re-iterate my claim that there needs to be a "fair dinkum spew" emoticon |

Thats a bit harsh Tyrant considering this kid has had a number of injuries since he has been with us. He is playing good footy in the Ants and finally I say whilst he is in good form give him a go. Unless he is given a fair dinkum go we will not know if he is not good enough. Then lets make the judgements but until then its called wait and see. I think he can be valuable to our forward line, he is a great mark (unlike DeLuca) and has no fear in going for the hard ball. |

Thats all fine & dandy but Longmuir isn't a kid. He'd want to be taking 15 marks a game or kicking 3-4 goals a game at the lower level to deserve a spot. There's no point in going backwards while we're trying to move forwards. |

Yeah right Molesy like we are a side that is oozing with talent....Get real will ya.....He has not been given a fair go.....he has been averaging 3 goals a game in the ants.....and at least deserves a chance.... |

He's been given 10 games in 2005 for 10 goals and perhaps 1 game where he was in the best 10 players. What is he, 27? What else do we owe him? |

I'm confused. If Longmuir is playing well enough to warrant a senior call up {according to some posters}, but we won't select him. Why did we draft him and not try our luck on a kid in last years draft? I haven't seen any Ants games, so I cannot comment on his form. Regards Pedro.. |
