Post subject:  The A's and the B's!!

I thought I might start a thread about football. I reckon we have had enough of the speculation of will…he/we/they or won’t…he/we/they for a while. It will sort itself out in due course. I realise that we need to rest some tired bodies to get our season rolling and probably need to make some bold moves to counter the battles ahead. On that basis, I’m gunna be radical here and say that we should drop/rest up to three players this week (plus the unlucky Fish) that have had little impact in recent weeks. Some of them are playing with niggles and others have spent more time on the pine than on the park.

I suggest that it is all about the A’s & B’s! Nah not the Aints and the Blues!

Omit these A’s firstly: Archie, Anthony, Andrew, Awfully Unlucky! (Lappin Lucky)

Adrian Deluca: Pago Pago’s Love Child has completely lost his confidence to the extent that he just can’t make a decision where to run whether he is leading or has the ball. Definitely is the weakest link…So goodbye, back to the magoos for you Archie.

Anthony Koutoufides: Might be Captain, but having less and less impact as each game wears on. He felt for his knee a number of times last week and particularly in the room after the game. He didn’t train yesterday according to the blurb as he is being managed. I think he needs at least 2 weeks off altogether to rekindle the spark. Will he ever return to last seasons form? I doubt it. Very sad.

Andrew Carrozzo: He has been spending a lot of time on the bench. Is this due to ordinary form or the MC can’t find a match up for him? Not sure, but with a bit of solid game time in the 2’s will bounce back. I still think he is better in the back pocket than in the engine room. ;-)

Awfully Unlucky Brad Fisher: Well it fits with the theme! I heard a new nickname for him the other day. Gecko. Not sure if it is due to his ability to climb up higher than others, his sticky fingers or the amount of time he spends just laying around in hospital beds. If we could keep him on the park with the other forwards for a number of consecutive games, we will kick a huge score one day.

Promote these B’s: Bow Wow, Blacky, Bear, Barnanaby

Paul Bower has been one of the best in recent weeks in the VFL and is ready to show us why he was the best of the defenders in last years draft. He has been learning defensive team disiplines from Barry Mitchell to add another side to his game. We got a bargain at pick 20 with the Fro. Is gunna be a giant when he fills out. ;-)

Luke Blackwell is just an accumulator of possessions in the VFL, but if you have had the opportunity to watch his previous games, including the finals series in WA, he finds his own pill and uses it very well particularly by hand. Can’t kick over a jam tin, but gets where the ball is, like most good players. Would have gone about ten spots lower in the draft if we hadn’t claimed him under F/S. ;-)

Chris Bryan has served his penance, surely? I can’t fathom why the MC has preferred the Gloved Witches Hat to this bloke. He can take a grab, he can kick it a mile and he is pretty good for a big bloke below his knees. All qualities that Archie lacks. Can also play in the back half. Woof! ;-)

Barnaby French in the two’s. I’d like to see that was the comment we have been hearing, but it happened last week. My mail is that the MC wanted to give him an ease up and see how Dylan went with the body on body stuff required against Hille etc. We need to get first use of the red thing against the Aints, so surely French must come back in. ;-)

This is how I see them lining up:

B: McGrath, Thornton, Bryan

HB: Bower, Whitnall, Scotland

C: Simpson, Stevens, Walker

HF: Houlihan, Waite, Kennedy

F: Betts, Fevola, Blackwell

R: McLaren, Bentick, Murphy

INT: French, Lappin, Wiggins, Saddington

What think you?

Would love to see Bower get a chance this week.

Who the hell does Bryan play on in the back pocket? To slow for KP not tall enough for ruck.

I reckon it sounds good but I wouldnt be suprised if it was actually:

B: Lappin , Thornton, Saddington

HB: Walker, Whitnall,Scotland

C: Houlihan, Kouta, Stevens

HF: ? , Waite, Kennedy

FF: Deluca, Fevola, Betts

Foll: McLaren, Bentick, Murphy

Int: French, Simpson, Carrazzo, McGrath

Pagan doesnt have the balls to play the team you put down.

No point having French, Mclaren, Bryan, and Deluca all in the team- my opinion.

Given the saints lack of ruck options, it is possible that if French needs another week in the twos he can have it. We should win this area if Mclaren and Deluca hold up.
