at first i thought our forward setup was just silly. Through the NAB cup games i kept saying that it is just plain stupid to kick the ball to a pack where all three of our big men are. And infact it is just plain stupid to have 3 big men playing out of the square......but now its more than stupid - its dangerous. Is this what its going to take to wake up denis and prove its a shit setup. even with those guys up forward, fev was the only player who made leads and 90% of th time they kicked it to him anyway.....so why not have just him, one-on-one with his opponent?
have the other 2 bigs play up the ground, creating the need for their opponents to go with them, and give Fev the square, and the 50 to work with. Is there something wrong with this plan that will make it worse then the current one?

Might make Waitey think about his football... he is terrible right now.
Looks like a man who isnt inspired at all... but then again who can blame him???...

Fev had Fisher and Goddard on him for a lot of the second half. Most clubs aren't going to allow us to play him one out.

We are going to be down two forwards for the next month or so .

So you would think the logical thing would be to move whitnal up forward and get him to teach and guide young Kennedy and bring Livo in and let him play 6-8 weeks in the fullback position regardless of who he is up against and see if he can establish himself.

Anyone want to bet that he brings in Longmire or chambers or even a out of sorts Setanta and plays them forward. which will basically leave Fev double or triple teamed and a young kid left standing there like a shag on a rock

Only bright side is that Pagan will be forced to play Kennedy.

The Season's gone already. We should be making some preliminary bookings for Bryce Gibbs' airline ticket and new lodgings in Melbourne. In the meantime we should be playing the kids at every opportunity. Get big Santy in and JR as well, Keep Blackers out there too. If we cant win games then lets do everything we can to get games into the kids. If I am going to have to bleed as a supporter at least give me a reason.

Pagan won't be giving up on anybody!

waite is a showpony who tries to make himself look better than he actually is.

so many times where he could have taken a mark over the years btu has tried to make it look more flashy than what it actually is and has muffed it. im sick of his antics and he will not be mised from the lineup over the next 10 weeks. does nothing anyway.

Harsh but close to the mark.
I know the ball will be turned over as soon as he kicks it or spills a simply overhead/chestmark.
Tough decisions need to be made on Waitey

exactly rhys......glimpses of brilliance are not enough to warrant holding onto a player....as i have said before, i would prefer to have someone who is consistently good rather than occasionally brilliant.

i cringe when the ball goes near waite.....he shouldnt be in the forward line for starters....

Are you guys @#$%&! kidding?

Waite is our future, and he's a gun. Didnt anyone see his gather+run off half back yesterday, and then kick to Fev's advantage (fev ran on to it and missed the dribbly goal)..?

Seriously, he's one of our only players that has any mongrel about him and he is a dead set GUN. He tackles and pressures hard and creates a genuine target up forward. What more can we ask for? His kicking will get better.

I'd get lynched if I said that Walker was a showpony for when he "could have taken a mark over the years but has tried to make it look more flashy than what it actually is". And rightly so, because Walker IS a gun and SHOULD be trying the flashy things because as soon as he holds on to one it's gonna lift the whole team. Same goes with Waite.

I can't understand where all the Waite hate has come from!

We have bigger problems than Waite's ego believe me..!

You would see a massacre of biblical proportions. The only restriction on the amount of goals that could be kicked against us would be the limit of time on the clock.

If we played with 10 X 18-21 year olds, we may as well forfeit - it would be far less painful.

Guys like Waite, Walker, Davies all need to concentrate on getting the basic things right rather than attempting the impossible.

my thoughts exactly....walker simply thought he could transfer his under 18 games onto the MCG and the AFL scene, he has no realised he needs to go about it differently and is becoming a consistent player, but i whole heartedly agree about davies who will be in the shepparton 2nds next year.....and i agree about waite....sick of his erratic play.

But we cant win anyway, it's the catch 22. Plod along like we are and the fickled mob we've become gets angry, doesnt buy memberships and calls for the coach to be sacked. Try to stem the tide with some journeymen and our fickled mob gets angrier because we've drafted hacks and put back development of the team. Play the kids and we get hidings, same story, fans angry, petitions to sack the coach but at least the kids get a game. Surely anybody worried about biblical hidings jumped off 3 years ago anyway??

What is so fickle about expecting improvement year on year, or say from 2003?

I am a passionate Carlton wonderkid and I object to being called fickle. Improvement - is that too much to ask for?
