and how soon can we expect to know something about our off-field future? The silence is deafening.

One item on the agenda is whether or not to give Carlton a priority pick in both drafts (National & Preseason). The AFL is aware that the penalties have hurt Carlton more than they envisaged.

The priority pick in the Preseason draft will be designed to get Carlton more competitive on the field next year by allowing Carlton to recruit two quality experienced players. There may be an independent committee created to analyse the list before a decision is made.

I believe the rising popularity of soccer has forced the AFL to start thinking that a winning Carlton is great for the AFL and a losing Carlton is great for the world game.

Two PSD picks? Might end up using them on kids... or passing.

If we had 2 picks last year we could have had McLaren AND Guerra. Why would we pass when these type of quality players are up for grabs?

are you being sarcastic?????

There is a board meeting tonight and a decision will be made whether or not we go to the AFL for assistance via the CBF or some other way as we dont qualify for the CBF as it is for clubs how have not as big of a following like thebigger clubs.

Hypothetical - If Essendon* or some other team ends up last and we 2nd last. Surely we cannot be given a PP. The team ending up last would be screaming blue murder!!

Our whole future rests on what the AFL will give us....

Gimme a break!!!... theyre embarassing!!!!

So forever and ever to a day StKilda supporters will always throw this back at our face .. just cos the board was not capable off their own bats.

Taking over the ground is one thing... charity is embarassing... We had the opportunity to do it like every other club... and we chose to win 10.. Now we have to beg for mercy....

i'm thinking our board might have asked the AFL to change the 4 games to 4.5 games to gain a priority pick.

why was it ok when the saints, bulldogs and cats sat on the bottom and wracked up picks and now its our turn we get done over by the draft penalties and now a change in the priority pick system.

i think the bombers would be a little un happy about the decision aswell

according to the media (radio before Sunday's game) the club has asked for the number of wins to be averaged over 2 years. Apparently with the new system, only 2 PP's would have been given out over the past 10 or so years, and if it was averaged it would be only 4 (under last years system well above 10 have been given out, but I can't remember the exact figure).

What they didn't explain was if by PP they meant only before the first round or not (ie PP's as defined by the old system or the new).

earlier on in the year it was mentioned we could pick up Ken Sheldons son via father/son, going by all reports this years draft is the best we could see is he worth a 3rd rounder considering this years draft has depth
