Kouta has been a fantastic player for this club but I hope he hangs up the boots at the end of the year. Its very unfortunate that age and injury has got the better of him. He was a superstar in his time and its frustrating watching him play now knowing that he would have eaten all of those hacks that play on him now for breakfast. If Kouta does go to Seven, I just want him to say "Special"... ![]() |

Come on Kevin its stirring, its rising...its..its the golden gate bridge, the colossus of Rhodes, the hanging gardens of Babylon. Go for it!!!!! |

Quote: Koutoufides has also thrown his support behind coach Denis Pagan in his quest to rebuild the embattled club.
"Denis has been a great supporter of mine and the entire playing group and is committed to the club now and into the future," he said. "He's blooding young players and, believe me, he's passionate about the club and where he wants to take us." He never actually states he or the playing group support Denis - just that Denis is committed to the job. Read between the lines... |

I think Kouta will be remembered as one of the clubs champions no doubt about that. Sadly however he has been far from effective at all this season. Seeing him play on is becoming beyond imbarassing to the point where I believe he should seriously consider retiring before this season ends. |

let him play out the year .. let us cheer each possession as we remember kouta for the champion he is .. dont let him dissappear from the club without getting his farewell accolades from the supporters .. and worse .. getting bagged in forums every week who knows how long it will be before the club develops another player that was widely recognised as the best going around (in 1999- 2000) dont forget those days at optus in 2000 where we all chanted "kouta, kouta" .. dont forget the feeling of numbness as we watched him carted off the ground in the 2001 final .. wondering if we'll ever see him play again .. well done kouta .. .. go blues .. |

Perhaps in twenty years time I'll look back fondly on Koutoufides, but for the moment I have far more negative thoughts about the man. Make no mistake, he drew far more from our club than he gave. While he might've had a couple of decent years, there's no way I'll think of him with the same respect as Hird or Voss, let alone our past champions. |

I thought Kouta never spoke to the media. ![]() I was thinking during the week, with over seven million to spread between 30 odd players, no-one can claim to be worth anything over $250,000 they way we are playing at present. It's a worrying sign. |

kouta is definitely the best player ive ever seen play for carlton but the way he is playing this year doesnt do him justice. he should retire at the end of this year so he isnt remembered for the type of football he played this year but is remembered for how he dominated the game in 99, 00 and 01. too bad injuries got the better of him in the end or i think he could have had 2 more stellar seasons in him in 02 and 03. |

kouta's been great for the club, even to this day in some ways... Shore he ain't the leader we are desperately seeking. He probably could do a better role.. But........... Others who have been through what he has, have gotten up and left, and that's after running their mouths... Kouta has pretty much kept his mouth shut, and not jumped the sinking ship..Instead he Captained it. Say what you will about him. |

Kouta's been a great player, but to say that he's stayed at Carlton these last few years out of loyalty is to completely miss the fact that on a backended contract returning him somewhere in the vicinity of $600,000 to $1,000,000 a year in the latter part of the contract, it would be impossible for him to find a home elsewhere. Leaving just wasn't an option. |
