There must be a rule at North if you want to be a coach your name must begin with a 'D"

I think John Longmire's stocks have risen and he would be a candidate for a senior coaching role at some stage...maybe one more year as an assistant and then I predict he will land a senior job...

Was also gunna mention "The Duke of Earl" as well, so good get 2nd!! :)

Can you imagine Dean Wallis at Carlton? He would be standing out on the park addressing the kids at the forward fifty with ball in hand and waving his other arm about as he used to and just as he tries to demonstrate how to do a blind turn towards the goals, outta the blue appears the Dog.....

GOTCHA!! 8)

I bet he still has nightmares over 99. :P

Is Mark Arceri at North now? Pretty sure I saw him in the box at the Saints game.

Good list Kermit...I've been a Gary O'Donnell admirer for a while since his stint at Bris & reckon he'd be a great get...but he might be happy to wait until Sheedy finishes up at Windy Hill.

Jason Cripps?... Justin Murphys old mate....wonder if the Cripper is sentimental value only after all his injuries or he does have some coaching abilities.

I am starting think divine intervention could be the only way..maybe Shaun Hart could add a religious flavour to the coaching setup....get some culture into the club.....Iwouldnt mind seeing Voss and Chris Scott as assistants..dont see either tolerating poor training etc...

The list is the "Official Assistants" from the AFL site.

There are a host of part time coasches at most clubs like Earl, Dempsey, Aceri etc. happy for people to put them forward but this is the official list of assistants.

Kermit, I think your research here is spot on. What about this for a list

Tony Modra
Warwick Capper
Snake Baker
Malcolm Blight

Maybe one of these blokes could teach Andrew Walker how to hold on to one

Isn't Longmire a premiership player?

Ross Lyon used to be with us and was apparently highly regarded - instrumental in the development of Waite in 2002. Might be worth getting these two - they are assistants at the reigning premiers, regardless of whether you think they should have won it or not.

Not sure about Glenn Archer, fantastic player but hardly comes across as an inspirational speaker.

Ive said in the past the Rocket Eade is by far the worst speaker I have ever heard yet he seems to be able to coach quite well :?

Doesnt want to coach, at the moment....quiet bloke off the field and is more interested in business activities with Ron Joseph..
Archer surprisingly lacks confidence in himself away from the playing field...

Rodney Eade is a strategic guru. Dont think GA fits that mould either.
