Looks like he's been reading TC forum. Was really defensive.

Must say another uninspiring performance, compare to Sheedy's "we're coming to get you" edict. I get more inspird watching grass grow. When are we going to get some inspiration to this club so we get more than 18k to games?

for starters 18k for a team that has finished bottom for 4 years is ok, not good but not bad.

Sheedy keeps backing himself into a corner, first it was the basketball comment and on friday he could not throw players to stem the onslaught and now has come out and said they going after every young player out of contract. What happens if they dont land a young uncontracted kid, should he be to blame.

At least Sheedy is putting it out there - this is the sort of stuff we used to do as a club. BB, do you honestly believe 18k is acceptable for a home crowd?

when we were flying in 1999 and 2000, a game against Port at PP would have got a crowd of 20k if that

18k aint that bad for a team that has finished bottom 4 years..... if we were fighting for a top 4 spot or even in the eight and we got a crowd of 18k then i would say its unacceptable

but we are second last, showing no signs of improvement, finished bottom 3 years now what do you expect

We won't shy away from playing every kid on our list this year and if that means we cop the kind of beltings like the one on Friday night, then so be it.

The decision we are making is to have eight senior players and 14 kids with less than 40 games, rather than the other way around.

Do you play all the senior players and still get your bum smacked?

Those young players are still learning with their decision making and skills, but they will get better.

The interesting part was when Rohan Connelly brought up the 'Carlton supporters aren't happy that you are playing Prenda, Teague, Wiggo instead of kids'. Got really defensive, although did raise good point that you couldn't give up on someone like Wiggo at 23 (therefore inferring you couldn't give up on these guys yet, they are still young and can improve). Then rambled about how you can't ignore VFL form and used Sporn as an example where he averaged 25 touches over 5 weeks. In the same breadth he acknowledged there was quite a step up from VFL to AFL. He kept going to talk about JK and how there was no point in keeping him in the seniors where he could lose confidence and that it was much better that he went back, kicked a few goals and played in a winning team. He was fully prepared for this line of questioning.

My guess as I have stated in another thread (and taking Sticks' comments into account) is that the 'duds' have 3 weeks to survive and Pagan is trying to show as much faith in them as possible. Basically he's trying to squeeze blood from a stone (maybe, just maybe Wiggo the exception)

Haven't heard it but I could give you a run down if you like

Nobody knows what we've been through

We are 4 years into a 6 year sentence

I wish I had two Lances

Fev was just sensational today

Sheedy stole my thunder

We just butchered the ball

Every time I see Wells and Godard I think sheesh

There are no superstars in the closet down at Royal parade believe me we have looked for them

We Will discuss through the week

We know where we are at

I' asked the players and they came up with the same answers as we did

We need bigger bodies

we are taking small steps

we have been compeitive in most quarters

kouta can you blame him he's been a sensational captain for this club we couldn't have asked for more

Hang on, wasn't it 3 years into a 4 year sentence not so long ago? Maybe we should give Denis a 10 year contract.

SB, are you his scriptwriter??

This was the majority of the press conference, same old, same old. But it was good to see Connelley (even being a supporter of the scum) putting it to him.

So if you went and played golf, why do we need to hear from you. Why don't you go and watch your fav Tiger video and POQ.

You should try it, saves you from becoming bitter and twisted. Don't like tiger, but I'll buy you a video instead.

Just out of curiosity, how many games have you been to this year? Didn't see you in Perth.
