if we could afford to do that and leppa is willing i see no reason why it should not go ahead he'd be perfect to help setanta and livo and t-bird to develop

Not a bad idea.
knows what success feels like and has been coached by one of the best.

It couldnt do any harm

With a young defence like ours it would be good to get a few specialist coaches who can coach in their areas of expertise.

Who coaches out forward line? Libba? No wonder there is no structure to it at all.

My concern about us judging prospective coaches is that we really have no idea about what they are like personally, what their ambitions are, what their football brains are like, etc

Just because a good ex-player wants to coach doesn't mean he'll be good.
Just because he was a good player doesn;t mean he'll be a good coach.
Not saying he is, but he could be an arrogant prick who puts people offside for all we know.

i dont know what kind of a person he is but the way leppa played it was more on brain rather than on pure skill or physical ability

No way.
The man is as sharp as a bowling ball.
I liked the way he played and it was to the best of his abilities.
Doesn't mean he will necessarily be a decent coach.
Regards Pedro.

i dont mean to argue mate but i never suggested that he'd make a decent coach in was just talking about him having the brains to play. i know that that probably doesn't even make 50% of a good coach.

Not arguing TB24.
Leppa rearranged our local pub one night, highlighting how little grey matter there is between his ears.
Just not someone I want at Carlton.
Regards Pedro.

Having heard the stories from people who have lived with him, re-arranged pubs with him and still see him regularly, I think the bowling ball comment was a bit off-side... You're on the right track, but he's definately no dummy.

You never know, his type of personality (a matured wild-child) might be just the sort we're after.

shaun hart actually annointed him as the one most likely to make it as a coach.

now that he's retired pagan can cross him off the list of broken down, over the hill defenders to draft with pick 53.

Already been offered a coaching role with Brisbane. Is in Canada with his wife (she's Canadian) and family and will make a decision when he comes back.
