Hard to believe that a club who has gone through the Adrian Whitehead saga would plonk their most important player on the ground after injuring a knee. Once the knee cooled Fev was obviously labouring big time. When its a knee you are playing a dangerous game. Whilst I am not a kneeologist it isnt rocket science to suggest that the knee area was more susceptible to more serious damage.you have played with fire once why dice again. You can trott out the old chestnuts that all players play with niggles.Try telling that to Hayes and Coughlan. I cringed every time the shag went near the ball. The game was there to be won but hey is it worth losing your best player for a year. To fevs credit he kept at it.Full marks for the courage he showed but you might as well had McLaren in the goal square in the last quarter. |

He definitely should be rested for next week. Played like a true champ last night. |

When a boxing referre says to a boxer are you ok it is the most stupid question asked in the universe cause you know what he will say.Football players are no different. |

Even resting him next week, he should still be leading the Coleman. Unless Hall has 2 huge matches tonight and next week. |

having him on the ground allowed us to get about 4 goals from other targets and he kicked 2 himself. He wasn't throwing himself into contests so I think it was pretty safe to play him as a decoy |

Yeah, good call blu, that's what I thought too. North were extremely Fev conscious which freed up Deluca. I thought it was a pretty good ploy. |

if we look at it realistically we havent got much chance of beating the lions up there and if you look at fev's record against mal michael he is one of the few defenders who have kept him goalless and he's kept him to 2 goals twice and to 1 goal once. i say fev has more chance of winning the coleman if he doesnt play this week and nor should he train this week |

i actually shead a tear for him at half time because i was sure he wouldn't play another game for the rest of the season with the way he was carried off and all the attention he got on the sidelines.................then he comes back on and kicks two amazing goals??????????????? WTF FEV????? Oh well, at least he's ok. |

3AW news have stated scans have cleared him and he is ok to play next week. He is in stunning form! I hope the club do the right thing and only play him if THEY think he is ok. Fev admitted that last year he cleared himself fit to play when he wasn't. I just hope the club is smart over this. |

Medico's opinion first, player's last. I don't care if Fev is at the 'Gabba next week as long as he is kicking goals for the rest of the season. |

Exactly. So let's leave it to the club doctor, who is closer to being a kneeologist than any of us and obviously cleared Fev to go back out there. |

Fev's good news Quote: precautionary scans have revealed no structural or cartilage damage to the knee.
And the Blues' medical staff are confident that Fevola - who finished the game with five goals to take his 2006 tally to 48 and extend his lead in the race for Coleman Medal - will be fit to face the Brisbane Lions next Saturday night at the Gabba. |

You know, becoming a kneeologist was once a career path I considered following, but I found more interest in bloodology |

Is he the same doctor who cleared him to play the last 2 months of last season? If there was any doubt about his knee he shouldn't have come back out, the fact he had scans the next day says there was doubt. You don't take risks with our most valuable player while we are holding up the ladder. |

If any of you were paying attention during the telecast you would of heard that the Doc ruled him out for the night, but Fevs wanted to come back on.. He would'nt take no for an answer. |

Ps Thank god Fevs has tree trunks for legs... I always thought that Fevs would never have a full reconstruction, his legs are just too darn strong..6-8 weeker at worst is what we will see i reckon.. Then again after Friday night maybe not even that! ![]() |

He was just on the Sun Footy Show. Said he should be right for next week but didn't sound entirely convincing. |
