I would say if we were to determine Carltons best 6 now with the usual criteria being how valuable they are to the team I would list them as below in that order..any comments...This is not for the b&f this year but generally.

1. Fevola
2. Whitnall
3. Murphy
4. Waite
5. Simpson
6. Stevens

Take out Stevens.

I'd rate Blackwell, Bentick, Carazzo above him currently.

This is based on players performing at their best but it also takes into consideration consistency:

1-Fev
2-Stevo
3-Lance
4-Murphy
5- Scotland
6- Simpson

after number 3, it really hit me how bad we really are, a first year player shouldnt be our 4th best player, scotland shouldnt be in there at all and simpson is also too young to be in a top 6 but they are and it highlights how poor we are.

I agree, Scooter should be there too, but I disagree with 24 that he shouldn't be in our top 6.

he wouldnt be in the top 6 of most, if any, of the other teams in the league but he's definitely in our best 6. this is scotland we're talkin bout yeah?

Scotland has been fantastic this season, easily in our top 6, probably top 4. But in terms of actual best six in terms of their value to the team, IMO:

1.) Fevola
2.) Whitnall
3.) Stevens
4.) Waite
5.) Murphy
6.) Scotland

Wouldn't have Waite in the top 6; way too inconsistent

yeah agreed on potential he'd be top 3, but he's inconsistent and needs to improve his kicking fro goal, his field kick is usually good but set shots especially trouble him and as a power forward you need to be able to kick straight when shooting for goal which is 1 of the reasons i think we have to deevlop him into more of a utility player in the mould of kouta.

Perhaps but still very important, gives us something across half-forward, kicked over 35 goals last year and was on target to do likewise again this season. Has almost single-handedly won us games in the past. I think he's very important and valuable to us.

Yes I do, and from what I've seen, in a good side, Stevens would be hard pressed making the ones.

He's been bordering on a liability this season.

Why don't you enlighten us, oh wise one?

i Would list my Six on current and also future

1. Fevola - turned himself around in his maturity and his approach
2. Murphy - Shown in 12 weeks how important he will be in the future at this stage also future captain in waiting
3. Lance on current form and also has shown leadership
4. Stevo suffered from a weakened Midfiled but as we improve his value will also increase and he wont be so heavily targeted
5. Simmo what he has shown this year in his run and carry and breaking the lines just love how he plays
6. Scotland has been solid in Midfield / Defence and has been solid all year and shown maturuty also this year.

if your talking about campo then i think simmo has done more than just cover his loss. if you're talking about kouta as well he was good last year and so was stevo but this year kouta's body is just too old and battered for afl.

I can guarantee that they won't be too concerned about the damage Stevens will do them either.

And, I actually hope he proves me wrong.

Ummm i dont think i mentioned either Campo or Kouta in my list
In regards to Stevo i see a player who this year has shouldered the majority of the midfiled burdon and is easily the main target of oppositions as they regard stevo as very dangerous so will do everything to blanket him and so far the only player to take some of the pressure of Stevo in the midfiled this year has been Murphy as we saw him get under the guard of Westcoast this year and demand there best tagger which freed up Stevo a bit.
Also i am not talking about last year but from this year and onwards So as you say Kouta yes too old or no longer has the hunger in him or body to tired we will see at years end.
Campo just glad we got rid of him enuff said

i think stevens is in the top 10 as far as best field kick in the league but i think his decision-making lets him down and makes his kicking look worse and he only gets the ball when someone marks and handballs to him or when he picks it up loose in the backline, i also think he runs extremely hard but hasnt been doing this lately because he's carrying an injury which is why we should rest him.

yeah i forgot about murphy (which is almost a crime) i was just saying because you said he's suffered from a weakened midfield and i was trying to work out what you meant by that but now its pretty obvious with murphy going dow. my bad.

KK whilst I can't tell you for certain, I'd be pretty confident that Stevens would be in the top three players the opposition looks at when analysing the Carlton side...
