Quote: 5. Not pointing fingers AB – and most definitely not at you… but do the team realise that Betts is 173cm and that it’s hard for him to mark the ball 2 feet above his head? Yeah, he’s pretty small… but he’s always on the move. Sometimes he just bobs up in a position you don’t expect – maybe he should be at the feet of the bigger guys, but Betts keeps on leading. He’s certainly a bit of a livewire. ![]() ![]() Quote: 6. With our midfield base so young, how much do you go to more senior
players like Nick Stevens and Heath Scotland for advice? Personally, I go to Nick a fair bit. He has lots of experience, and I guess with Kouta out he and French are the leaders of the midfield group. But for me, I certainly do seek Nick out. Yes we definitely don't need Stevens. ![]() You can't count M. ![]() |

Brett Ratten spent a few years as a tagger and in the back pocket before and outsider in Ken Judge (who was Carlton Assistant Coach in 1995) suggested playing Brett in the mid-field. I'm not suggesting that Adam will turn out as good as Brett (lets hope he does they are certainly similar types in both build and style) however Adam has not had the luxury of playing those type of roles before learning the caper - he has been thrown head first into the mid-field and is making a reasonable fist of it. |
