Herald Sun had another interesting stat of the week with running bounces - and our very own Kade Simpson came second behind Jason Gram. Just another indication of Kade's willingness to run hard and take opponents on - exactly what we want our kids to be doing!

Yes, definitely, Kade down one wing, and Tex down the other.

I think they reported that stat earlier in the season and Walker was winning by a mile. Then mid-season Walker found himself in the last line of defence on the opposition's most dangerous forward so we lost his drive.

It appears to me that running the lines with bounces is one possible way to overcome the floods we find ourselves agaisnt. If we could protect the ball carrier to the 50m and let them take a shot then we may be able to break it up a little. But we wont do it with Walker and Simmo in the D50. And we need others to do that. Its great watching Goodwin of the Crows take 2 bounces and slot from 50m... if only we had a few more guys who could do that!

Does Jackson do this in the 2's? Is he this sort of player?

Like most stats it can be deceptive, as a lot of players take a bounce after one of two steps when they don't need to.

Simo is 3rd in the league on average............good effort by the lad.

Didn't Parkin ban bouncing in '95 to assist the leading forwards? Isn't it funny how footy evolves.
