We'll beat Hawthorn & Richmond. We aren't playing too bad, without winning. Hawthorn have ruled Everitt out for the year, Richmond have done the same with Brown. The Tigers have a host of other injuries, and realistically can't make the 8. Hawthorn are ranked 16th in pretty much every important stat over the last month.

We will not get a PP, two wins will push us above 16 points. I reckon we'll still get pick 1, the Bummers play the Hawks & Tigers also.

This is where the systems gets screwy. Not only is it not in our best interest to win. But it is in their best interest to let us win.

I think we can win every game, but we won't. Just 1 win and ill be happy, would it be to much to ask to smash someone too, maybe Collingwood say by 10 goals or so. LOL

We lost to richmond earlier in the year and they didnt have Brown I dont think it matter about injuries.

It depends on the game plan and if the coaching staff have aproper plan which enables us to wins games.

I hate saying this do as collingwood do rest the star players who have niggly injuries and play the kids.

I think we can draw a few matches and still be in a "Win Win" situation :P :P :P

We have already missed out on the Priority Pick - Pick 18 is not a Priority Pick.

We have been right royally reamed by "The Spew" again and our board have rolled over and parted their cheeks and have provided the KY jelly to boot.

The KY jelly being the $500,000 sweatner in this case :)

I hate to say it, but if we win one more before the end of the season I reckon it'll be time to get some of the youngsters in and rest Fev as his finger injury "worsens".

Agree....we need the PP in such a strong draft..you never know who might slip through to that pick...

As I said in an earlier thread - I would give up the money in a heartbeat if we had a proper Priority Pick in this Draft so potentially we got picks 1 and 3.

Imagine how easy it would be to sell the positive spin to the missing 5000 members over the Summer with Picks 1 and 3 on our list ie. Gibbs and Gumbleton or Gibbs and Hansen.

Theres around $700,000 in extra revenue to start with - as well as all the positive good news stories - a few extra corporate sponsors as well wanting to get in the ground floor.

Yep I would take Picks 1 and 3 over the AFL's extra cash any day.

think how many more members etc we would have if the club sold anything on our position going into the draft period.

We will pick up 3 out of the top 20 kids this year, which would mean one more kid that another club won't touch.

We will enter the PSD and hopefully get someone descent.

We will have turned our list over by 6 - 8 players and promoted a rookie or two :-D

That in itselt could be enough if they sold it properly with 5 rounds too go

see my post on - Selling the club

I e-mailed SEN / 3aw and the club on it.

I can see the time when the PP option will be removed altogether. This current arrangement is just a transition. I know that I would love to get a couple of the best kids in the land down at Carlton, but I am biased.

Didn't we do that this year?

If we miss a priority pick this year, the board should stand down immediately and pagan should be sacked and paid out.

Didn't we do that this year?

No -

Last year we still didn't sell the prospect of going into the draft that well. We just let it happen.

We fell short in drafting Saddington, and we fell short in getting Mclaren.

This year we need too get better at it, sell it better, talk it up, haven't Essendon*?

Our efforts this year will be better, as we can get rid of more dead wood, hit the super draft with 3 out of the top 20, and work hard and get that descent player in the PSD.

A rookie or two may even get promoted.

If this draft is as strong as they say, then everyone is gonna get good players..........the way i see it is that the late picks are gonna be more critical than ever.

Well said, Mickstar. The recruiters that get the late picks right, give their club the competitive advantage over the others. The right development program also helps.

Our former recruiting guru ShaneO was very good at the late picks!! Pity about the early ones

*Bump*

Well it was fun why it lasted. The Hawks are in full on tank mode so it's all over kids.

the reason why we'll miss out on a priority is because we'll win more than 4 games next year.

You have got to barrack for us against Hawks, Tiges, Scum and sydney
Every time we play, i hope we win......i beg for a win
A priority pick would go a long way to help the club.....but u cant go to a game and hope not to win this one.

Im sure we`ll get our extra pick.....but gee do i hope we win some more games....atleast beat collywobbles :P

GO BLUESS...UP THE ANTS!!

(reckon ryan jackson might just crack a debut this yr)
